- zardoz07Christchurch, New Zealand66 contributionsA great piece of ancient historyWe had already visited Me Son from Hoi An and were very interested in the Cham history. We walked to the towers (Ponagar Temple) from Nha Trang and enjoyed the experience. The towers were obviously similar to Me Son and well worth the visit. Any repairs were done to blend in well. Very low cost entry fee. Not too many people when we visited. A must visit!Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 23 October 2023
- Ka Yan L5 contributionsFantastic destinationThap Ba Ponagar is a fantastic destination for tourists to explore in Nha Trang. The entrance fee is affordable, and despite its size, it offers excellent opportunities for photography and cultural exploration. Additionally, visitors can enjoy a captivating cultural dancing performance scheduled at specific times, which is offered free of charge.Visited February 2024Travelled with familyWritten 3 March 2024
- rehamLos Angeles, California2 contributionsA coastal gem with charmWe loved visiting the Po Nagar Cham Towers – it was such a cool mix of history and beautiful scenery. The intricate brickwork and carvings on the towers were really impressive, and the whole place had a tranquil and peaceful atmosphere. Being set up on a hill overlooking the coast, we got some seriously stunning panoramic views of Nha Trang! We loved that it was a bit outside the bustle of the city, and it felt like a hidden treasure. It's a great spot to soak up some culture and enjoy the gorgeous Vietnamese coastline.Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 9 April 2024

It is located on a small hill at the mouth of the Cai River. However, it is the great historical site, old architecture and a nice place to learn about the history of the area and local beliefs.Visited March 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 26 May 2024

This temple is a very miniature touched up version if compared to Angkor Wat. We had banh can tom for lunch opposite the temple. Time spent - 1 hour.Visited June 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 7 July 2024
- cyrusHelsinki, Finland1 contributionUncovering cham history at Po Nagar TowersWe were impressed by the excellent building techniques used to construct these ancient structures. The small museum on site showcases a range of Cham artifacts, providing valuable insight into the history and culture of the region. A great place to learn about Nha Trang's rich heritage and the Cham civilization.Visited August 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 25 August 2024

Because it is still an active temple, it has a lot of people. Those that come to Worship and those that come as tourists. Beautiful authentic structures that you can actually go inside (without shoes) the complex is not that large and doesn’t take that long to see everything. We took a lot of interesting photos as there is a lot of art displayed along the walking paths.

Po Nagar Cham Towers, gives a very good idea of building many years ago, without having to go to Angkor Wat.
Downside was, it was very very crowded, had no chance to take a pic without at least 20 people on it.
Pity, but understandable.

This is a great place to visit and appreciate the beautiful architecture of the buildings and the peaceful surroundings of the garden. We also enjoyed the performance by the dancers. Visitors can enter the temples and see the elaborate buddhas and shrines and if not appropriately dressed there are smocks you can use. It was quiet the afternoon we visited as the coronavirus is having an effect on tourism. There is a showroom with a lot of photographs and some costumes. This would be an ideal place for information boards about the history of the place and its current use and status in Vietnam. Well worth a visit and then a walk along the river.

The temple was really beautiful and nice. Great for photo-taking. Had to pay a small entrance fee to get in, but definitely worth it. Although the area was small, it was still really nice with a great view at the top. The place can be a bit crowded at times. There’s souvenir shops and a bar to buy drinks. You can even enter the temple with proper attire that’s given. Apparently there are dancers who will perform but unfortunately I did not get to watch the performance. Still, a trip that’s worth going. Also, there’s a lot of walking and steps to get to the temple

This place is beautiful and a definite must see if you visit Nha Trang. Small room where there are some things written in English to help better understand the symbols of each tower, I would have liked there to be something more substantial in English to learn with regards to the history of the towers. But I suppose this can be learnt from Google.

It was interesting to see one of the old Hindu temples in Vietnam. There were Shivalingas on the towers and Champa dance every hour. Beautiful view from the top. Local people visit and offer prayers. Lord Shiva and the Goddess Devi, The Mother Earth deity was decorated very beautifully.. Peaceful place.

Once upon a time, there was a god in the sea made of clouds and sea foam named Poh Nagar. In one day the high water brought people to the Yjatran river in Kauthara (Cu Huan river). Before she appeared thunder and lightning and a strong wind arose as if she was about to descend here. All humbled themselves to welcome the god to this place, the trees and animals were all happy. After setting foot on the shore, she was able to create splendid and majestic palaces. Possessing many miracles and up to 97 husbands. Of all, only Po Yan Amo is the most powerful husband. Her 97 husbands gave her 38 children, all of whom were girls and all became fairies. The gods in Ponagar's tower have only 3 gods that she transmits the most power to: Po Nagar Dara, Po Bia Tikuk and Rarai Anaih. In a guest note written by Phan Thanh Gian in 1857 during the reign of the 9th King Tu Duc and later in 1970 carved by Mr. Le Vinh and Mr. Quach Tan, the content was as follows: "When Kauthara land belonged to the Vietnamese, The goddess Po Nagar also became the goddess of the Vietnamese people with the name Thien Y A Na and her story was also Vietnameseized.

This is a must-visit place. Quite unique and brown in color. The temples are still active. Can see people praying and incent stick burns. Do take off your shoes, if you planning to go in and perform prayers or burn incent sticks.

Hi Usama Z,
Are the 50 stairs you mention all in one hit, or is that the total of smaller flights of stairs?
Thanks for mentioning WC. Always good to know.
Written 29 June 2019
Yes, in one flight, with a small patch in mid-flight for the less-fit to catch your breath. :)

from Nha Trang town centre is this place walking distance?
Written 6 February 2019
If by centre of town you mean the hotels along the beach, then get a cab. It is about $2. Make sure to use VINASUN or MAI LINH taxis. Others may be a scam.

What is the best time to avoid from tourist or less busy
Written 14 April 2018
We visited before noon, and it was ok. But the towers inside are
small and aisles are very narrow, so even with less people, those are growded.

We would like to visit Cham towers, fishing village and end up at the brewery house from the port. Any suggestions and in what order (independently)
Written 21 October 2017
fishing village is out on an island Hon Meu, foreigners pay 500,000d for boat to take you there and back. First you have to get street bike service to take you to the jetty, go early so you have more time to explore
Written 7 September 2019
22000 донгов примерно 70 рублей если перевести на рубли.
