All kinds of souvenirs and the cheapest of them all
The Vernissage market is the one stop shop for all souvenirs that you may need to buy in Armenia. Its a great place to find different forms of art, jewelry, memorabilia. The vernissage is where you'll find it all and the cheapest of them all. I remember buying a, what seemed to me as a unique piece of jewelry for my wife at Dilijan, and then found the same here at half the price.

    Tourist market
A fairly large, well organized tourist market. A lot of the stalls sell the same stuff, but there is a good choice of typical Armenian artifacts. I was particularly looking at the double reed woodwind instrument, the Armenian duduk, which produces such melancholic music. Normally it's supposed to be made of apricot wood, but not sure if these ones are (being a tourist market). Another very special item was the huge range of kebab skewers and all the paraphernalia that go with BBQ. If I had more space in my luggage, I would have bought a beautiful set.

    great market
vendors seem to come and go as they pleased. so better come 12-4 pm. too early or too late and they will not be there. it is a relaxing stroll, no hard sell some example items for sale : wood carvings , paintings, carpets, ceramics, silver, scars, keychain, fridge magnets, etc.

    Great market
One of the bests craft markets I’ve ever been to! It’s huge and worth taking some time to fully explore but it was a delight for all the stalls to be selling actual nice products - no sense of mass produced tat here! There’s such a wide range of items on offer with everything seeming to be of high quality. No pushy sellers either so you feel free to look around at your leisure. With the surrounding well-kept park it’s a great area and I’d recommend anyone visit when in the city.

The best open-air market in Yerevan
I visited this market on more than one occasions. It has a huge variety of souvenirs especially t-shirts, and where I bought my Armenian t-shirts, I also got handmade jewelry and lots of fridge magnets. All at competitive prices. One tip I should give shoppers do not buy your t-shirts and fridge magnets or any souvenir as soon as you entee the first booth because you find the price is low, walk further down and you you're going to see the prices are cheaper so keep that in mind. Besides this there are restauran and Sidewalk restaurants nearby and all at very competitive prices.

The best souvenir place in Yerevan
Definitely the best place to go to buy any kind of souvenir. The best prices in Yerevan, for sure! It is worth going on Saturday on Sunday, because there are significantly more vendors then. I bought a beautiful silver pomegranate pendant and earrings, a bag, a duduk, 4 handmade coffee cups and an obsidian keychain with an Armenian letter.

    Must visit local marketplace
Must visit if you are in Yerevan. Walking distance from Republic Square. Polite and friendly sellers. Little bit of bargaining can be helpful and you can get a discount if you buy more. Excellent local artisanship on display. Cash only. We ended up spending more than three hours here.

    Colourful, interesting local goods
In the city centre there is a large area with a craft and flea market. There is a colourful cavalcade, lots of traditional, beautiful, sophisticated wood and textile goods, jewellery, trinkets and many souvenirs. Orderly, clean, sellers friendly but not pushy. It's like a big bazaar.

There are plenty of flea markets all over the world and most sell the same sort of stuff. This one though does have quite a lot of local craft items and some quite lovely pieces like embroidered table cloths and nice ceramics. There is some tat of course and a range of stalls selling antiques / older items especially jewelry, glassware and silver. Definitely worth a wonder through if you’re looking for something interesting, or even if you’re not. This is not pitched at tourists and clearly frequented by locals too.

This flee market-like came alive during the weekends as I visited twice during my stay.

Weekend. Similar stuff that they are selling in every stalls. Variety of jewelry, clothing, chessboard, and other local items.

Weekday. Still the same people who are selling but much less people.

There are basically three different paths of the same thing you can see in each and every seller. But there’s this art lane market outside the Vernissage Path which is like going to an art museum. I would like to buy some if I had enough space with me.

I had read some reviews on Trip Advisor that had warned me and all in all almost made me want to visit this typical open-air market. Instead, I found a market full of typical Armenian handicraft objects, certainly for a tourist audience but genuine and of the highest level (what can we say about the wonderful inlaid wooden boxes for playing checkers and chess?), some worked silver jewels by hand, terracottas and dolls in traditional costume? The emotion grew when I approached a stall where there were very few simple wooden boxes on display and a gentleman with graying hair was working with pieces of wood with stonecutters, there was everything he was displaying: the his expertise and his manufacturing. I asked him where he was from and with tears in his eyes he said “from Karabakh”.

The Vernissage market is located near Republic Square. Here you will find everything that such markets should usually have: antiques, souvenirs, jewelry, crafts, handmade clothes - for every taste, color and budget. Long rows of stalls stretch several rows along Buzanda Street. It is open on weekends at full capacity; on weekdays the assortment is much poorer. One piece of advice - if you come here in the summer, be prepared for crazy heat. There is hot asphalt all around, and canopies on the rows, fountains and pulpulaks don’t help much.

If you are looking for souvenirs, "Vernissage Market" is the right place to go! Along Aram and Buzand Streets, from the "Republic Square Subway Station" up to the "Statue of Vardan Mamikonyan", the huge open-air market displays an enormous variety of items. Carpets, costumes, jewelry, antiques, musical instruments, dolls, toys, woodworks, magnets, paintings and so on for all pockets. As in all markets around Armenia, a little bargaining is always possible! Enjoy!

This is a large open-air souvenir shop for tourists. Nothing artisanal even if some people pretend to embroider, crochet or work leather. Come to the opening and you will see what boxes they take their goods out of. We even find articles identical to Georgia, especially pseudo paintings.
For lovers of postcards, which are difficult to find in the region, you have some in the souvenir shops within the market.
