- Happy ExplorerGuildford, United Kingdom87 contributionsA fantastic museum .. a must seeDefinitely a 5* Museum. The architecture is even more stunning as you approach on foot. The gentle curves of outside are continued throughout the interior, so I was immediately met by a feeling of calm. As you meander through each room and exhibits the attention to detail is amazing… i dare you not to smile as you enter the interactive start of musical instruments. This is after a stroll through carpets and costumes of Azerbaijan - a great idea is a magnifying glass on each carpet so you can see the weave. After a cafe stop (to enjoy a delicious tuna roll), we continued downstairs to the Motor Museum.. Wow! Its incredibly interesting .. and had my favourite dream car Mercedes SL 280. All staff throughout were friendly and helpful. Həydər Aliyev museum is fantastic but please be warned. Allow far more time than you think you need, we will be going againVisited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 28 October 2023
- DeAnkara, Türkiye17 contributionsAmazing architectureVisited the place when I was in Baku for a congress. The architecture is so amazing that you do not have to put anything inside. On the other hand the exhibitions inside the building are also great such as the various musical instruments or the little BakuVisited December 2023Travelled on businessWritten 9 December 2023

- Juby JEmirate of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates334 contributionsNumber 1 on the bucket list for Baku, AzerbaijanI think this should be your number one must to visit place if you ever travel to Baku. Its architecture itself is one of a kind . A photo in front of it is must. Inside you have the modern science and history of Azerbaijan blended in one place. There are some nice exhibits and structures inside . Don't miss to click a picture with I Love Baku with the center in background. Trust me this will be the cover picture of your Azerbaijan TripVisited April 2024Travelled with familyWritten 21 May 2024
- kimwillruleSingapore, Singapore6,538 contributionsArchitectural knock outHeydar Aliyev Centre, Baku, Azerbaijan: The Silk Road legacy has always had a magnetic pull on me since a child. Azerbaijan is a mix of the Silk Road romanticism, mixed with Eurasia traditions and now with coffers lined up rich oil money, handsome and ambitious architecture throw up - such as the Heydar Aliyev Center. If you’re a Zaha Hadid fan like me, who has been on her fan trail, you’ll add this to your collection. Sharp angles you won’t see, but undulating curves you will. The fluid form is such a strong stand out, it’s like an architecture pilgrim’s call. Little wonder it made to “Azerbaijan’s Amazing Transformation”. Most spend hours preening their IG shots here. The noteworthy museum is the Vintage Cars museum with a sprawling collection of noteworthy US, Soviet, German and even Ukrainian cars. #eatstylishtravelstylishVisited June 2024Travelled with familyWritten 8 June 2024
- Sania10 contributionsWell worth the money!Incredible architecture and great exhibitions which range from Baku's history & international relations to local + global art. There are a few interactive parts of the exhibition too. The area outside is made very well, and the I Love Baku sign outside makes this the perfect tourist picture spot too. The price for foreigners was 15 AZN per person - well worth it! We spent about 2 hours exploring.Visited June 2024Travelled with familyWritten 22 June 2024
- ManzoorAbu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates19 contributionsHyder aliev museum worth visiting..Pro. Location is slightly far. However bus 5 goes from Nizami street. It's a huge building need to walk a lot. Beautiful architecture building, best designed by late Zaha Hadid. Excellent work. It is going to be a fullday tour or if you are on a hurry, it is nothing less than half day. Museum is well designed. Cons. No power point for mobile users to charge thier mobiles phones. Entry fees slightly over priced. There should be a proper marking start to end. Need places to sit for elderly people on each floor Overall .Worth visiting.Visited June 2024Travelled with familyWritten 4 July 2024
- Milind ShahAhmedabad, India2,020 contributionsArchitectural MarvelThe Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center in Baku, Azerbaijan, is a remarkable architectural landmark designed by the renowned architect Zaha Hadid. As one of the city's signature modern structures, it captivates visitors with its fluid, futuristic design. The Heydar Aliyev Center stands out for its organic, curvilinear form, which defies traditional architectural norms. The absence of sharp angles and corners creates a sense of fluidity and openness. The building seems to flow seamlessly, with no clear distinction between walls, roof, and floor. Inside, the museum offers a vast, column-free space that allows for flexible exhibitions and events. The absence of supporting columns or beams enhances the feeling of openness. Natural light floods the interior through large windows and skylights. Whether you're an architecture enthusiast, an art lover, or simply curious, the Heydar Aliyev Center promises a unique experience. Don't miss the chance to explore this iconic building and immerse yourself in its innovative design. The entry fees for the Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku, Azerbaijan, are as follows: - Adults: 15 Azerbaijani manat (AZN) - Children under 6: Free - Additional fee for visiting the Classic Car exhibition: 10 AZN You can purchase tickets at the guest services desk upon arrival or book them online in advance.Visited May 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 5 August 2024

This place is fantastic. It is perhaps the most amazing building I have ever been in; just being inside such a work of art is worth the price of admission but the museums themselves were really great. I don't know why they don't get more press because I think they are the best museums in town. We spend over 5 hours here and could have spent more. There is a great art display including a section with street art from Brazilian artist, Nina Pandolfo. Then there is a very thorough section on Heydar Aliyev that gives a lot of information on recent Azerbaijan history. There is also a small section on carpets. There is an extensive music display with hundreds of different instruments from Azerbaijan as well as from other countries, with great video and audio displays showing how these are played, how they are made, and different types of local music being played with these instruments. On the top floor is the most spectacular collection of dolls I have ever seen. Under a separate ticket, there is a below ground museum of classic cars that are restored to perfection; this is a must see for a car enthusiast. Cost is 15 manat for the main museum and another 10 for the cars.

The building itself looks like a space ship from the other planet. It opens rather late: at 11.00. There are several museums inside. We spent about 4 hours visiting different exhibitions. One feels hungry but there is no food in the museum cafe. They serve only tea/coffee.
The car museum is big and full of interesting car models. Some of them quite old. People are allowed to take photos there, but if you approach the car a lot the security panicks.))
There is an exhibition of miniatures of famous buildings in Baku. It's also worth visiting. There is also etnography and archeology exhibition there.
But my favorite museum there is toys museum! It's the best toys museum I've ever seen. The dolls look like sculptures not like dolls. They look like real human beings but of small size. Some of the dolls represent local people in national clothes. They must be heroes from local legends and fairy tales. Their clothes is so rich in details! The other dolls represent Kings, princes or Queens from middle ages. They all look like real art. There is a section with funny dolls.

Thus is a nice place to see a concert or art show. We saw a concert of opera arias. There are some art installations by contemporary artists such as Jaume Plensa in the main areas, but the main draw is the amazing architecture inside and out.

Worth a visit for sure! The curved wave like structure is even more beautiful on the inside. The centre houses great sculptures of renown as well as permanent and temporary collections. The halls of musical instruments are particularly interesting and illuminating! And if you like dolls they also have a fabulous collection.

Going to this place i had made no research and had no idea what i was going to see. It completely blew my mind.
The beautiful building structure seamlessly weaving into the landscape around it was only rivaled by the amazing art inside. PS. i am not very big on Art.

Azerbaijan is a mysterious country for common people. The best way to have a good idea about history, people, traditions as well as modern day country is to visit this magnificent architectural monument and get a closer encounter of all aspect of life and culture of Azerbaijan. It's a journey throughout the ages from the bronze age and Islamic heritage all the way to being part of the soviet union till the independence and modern day republic and the problems it faces. Traditional costumes, music, arts, architecture and literature as well as the people of Azerbaijan are also present. And finally the 2 major aspects, the life of the modern nation founder, Heydar Aliyev, and the conflict with neighboring Armenia. It's a complete resume of modern wealthy country. It's worth mentioning this interesting architecture is the work of famous Iraqi female engineer, Zaha Hadid, a very interesting modern architect whose magnificent designs are trade marks in every corner of the world.

The "Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center" is one of the most impressive architectural complexes I have ever seen! The acclaimed late Iraqi-Bristish architect Zaha Hadid projected a real masterpiece of architecture! The "Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center" opened its doors in 2012 and became immediately a landmark of modern Baku! It simply flows and its curves bewitch all visitors. It reprepresents, no doubt, a transition from the Soviet Era authoritarian buildings to a modern and futuristic architecture. Over 57,000 m², a conference hall, exhibition galleries and a museum complete the scene. Bring your cameras, fond memories to take home. Unmissable! Enjoy!

It may be another one if the many Zaha Hadid buildings, and most of the time, the locals just drop tourists off for a photo session of the iconic exteriror.
thanks to a windy day, I decided to go inside and behold, it's even more beautiful inside. The structure is truly a spectacle to see AND, THE EXHIBITIONS are very interesting and engaging.
I saw the Azerbaijian History and Music exhibitions, which are decked with multimedia engagements that truly help me understand the culture more. in fact, the exhibitions allowed me to. make sense of whatever I see in the old city and yaderdag later.
but, if not for these exhibitions (which may not be permanent), at least come to see the scale models of all iconic buildings of Azerbaijian.
coffee shop only serves coffee.
