If you like ancient history then it's a must. I personally liked it. Took local bus from Baku to Gobustan and then hired taxi for Gobustan National Park and mud volcanoes. Loved the trip. If you're in Azerbaijan, then it's a must visit.

It was a bit underwhelming but I must admit that both my husband and I are not much into these kind of things. For people interested it could be really cool. What impressed us more was the landscape. Nice view you get. If you are...More

You get to see the petroglyphs..which were made centuries ago. Wont take more than 30 mins to see the places. Better to go with a guide who can explain where is what rather than searching stuff ourselves.

Very interesting and breathtaking site. Highly worth visiting. Unique rock formation and proof of a megalithic culture that also included musical instrument. We even where allowed to play on the "rock drums". The Azerian people are very hospitable and generous.

I recommend going to see the museum at the beginning. It is very interactive and modern. The petroglyphs are interesting and i recommend taking a guided tour to this area as there are many things that one could miss, should you go alone.
