Located inside the busy Dhaka city, this small fort is well maintained by the Government. The fort has a tomb inside which is locked for entry, it has a man made fountain replicating the Mughal architecture of fountain with Garden as we see in most of the Mughal gardens in our India including Tajmahal. Garden is well maintained. This fort houses a mosque, a dried lake, residential buildings for officials of the rulers, water storage facility. Also it houses a bath house used by the royals with paintings of the usage of the bath house. The entry fees is 20 for Bangladesh citizens, 100 taka for Saarc countries' visitors

The history and the witness of the Mughal era, founded in the 17th century. the construction was so affluent compared to that era. The founder of the Lalbagh fort Mughal prince Azam Shah started the construction back in 1678. however, the fort had never completed for other pathetic reasons described in history.

Considering the limited number of places to see here, this is a worthy visit.
But traveling to the place and specially finding the place is so difficult that I wanted to turn back many a time. But I was determined to somehow find this and I did.
It is commendable that they preserve it but a lot needs to be done to make it an attraction.
Better transport and directions to the place , better maintenance and management of the venue is absolutely essential.
Better management of places liken this would go a long a way in making Bangladesh a tourist attraction too.
And the concrete jungle country needs many more of this.
It will not only beautify the land but also will also purify the polluted air at least a tiny bit.

In the Dhaka city It's very hard to find a clean and refreshing place. This place is good for a small get together within short time. Although it’s a place of traffic jam. It will not feel bad after reaching inside of this place. Well organised garden with lots of colourful flowers will give the nice felling.

Entry is 400 taka for foreigners. Had a nice walk in the beautiful gardens, awesome architecture, rest area with Turkish hammam, approach the South Gate and secret tunnel where no one come out if they want to escape, saw Shaista Khan’s daughter graveyard, the royal mosque and many others. Nice canon with black stone around.
Wonderful visit.

It was a couple tour with my wife. We went there by 12:00 pm. And, we have visited the fort together and clicked numerous photos.
This place is a heritage for Dhaka, aswell as Bangladesh.
Everyday, a good number of people visits here with their friends and family. Foreigners also come to visit here.

We were fortunate to visit the Lalbagh Fort with a guide, which helped enormously - there isn’t much in the way of interpretive material on-site, yet the story of its history is so important to appreciating any visit. Our tour included an evening presentation comprised of light projections on the main fort building, along with a recorded history narrative, both very engaging. The incense did little to dissuade clouds mosquitos, but being a mozzie magnet I went prepared with tropical-grade inset repellant - highly recommended for any trip around Dhaka. Lalbagh Fort is definitely worth a visit, but take a local with you.

I could only have a view from outside as the fort is closed to visitors on Sundays. This appeared to be a very popular attraction of Dhaka. This can be easily reached by rickshaw from other Dhaka attractions

If I know from where you want to go there I can answer you more precisely. My recommendation is taking the beribadh route.. This route is very polluted but it can take you there faster
