A fascinating place with buildings dating back over 600 years, previously an important bengal city; Panam. Effectively a Main Street full of brick built buildings of all sizes, the larger ones would have been very regal and impressive in their day. Unfortunately, the whole place is fast becoming a ruin and I am surprised that with its historical significance it... More

Sonargaon is a historical place nearest to Dhaka city. The place is very educational for children. Idea for a day trip.

Too much crowded, as other places in Dhaka. Would recommend to travel to this place only on Friday, as quite away from city and other days most of the time will be spent in travelling. Good for group of friends to chill out.

Folk Art and Craft Museum, Panam city and Sonargaon museum among three place create the real sonargaon. this is the best place know our culture and heritage.

Bangladesh is not very good in preserving history. Sonargaon used to be the capital of Bengal and was ruled under King Isa Khan, this place used to be a vibrant city. While visiting you can feel the resonance of the past, u can walk through the main street of the old city which was called panam city. Lack of proper... More

The spot is very near to Dhaka city but due to extreme chaotic situation on the highway as well as streets of Dhaka city, it might take hours after hours to reach. Those who have the real eyes of an explorer they would enjoy the whole trip---there are so many things to observe on the road, so many may innovations... More

Sonargaon is the old capital of Bangladesh. Perfect for a day trip with family or friends. It has a museum. You need to buy entry ticket. The museum contains old sculptures, furniture, cloths, ornaments etc collected from different places around the country. You can also experience local rides inside the main palace/museum area for example local Ferris wheel, horse toy... More

- A very good historical place, very good to walk around and imagine & smell the ancient people. - There is an old bridge made of bricks before the entrance area, don't miss to see it. - Keep food & water with you, do not have good place/restaurants to have lunch or snacks. - Might not be safe place at... I do not remember the entrance fee, but it was not probably around BDT 20-50. The place consists of a long lane filled with beautiful old houses, a lot in bad shape though. However, the ancient buildings will definitely captivate you if you love history. There is intricate work on some of the buildings and it will take you back... More
