We had intended to visit a few places including Lalbagh Fort but ended with only this site due to very heavy traffic.

I had a great time with Setu as the guide. He is also a very experienced photographer and very knowledgeable. A great guide and very easy going. I particularly like how he often share with me the history of his country so that I'm able to have a better understanding of Bangladesh

Dhaka is an insane town. It is really great. I have been to all the neighboring countries and even lived in India. But, Dhaka is truly unique in it's own way. It is not to be missed. And the only way to really see this place is with a guide. I spent days trying to do this or that in town, only to get lost or not find transportation when I need it. The place is hectic, and alone, it is a formidable opponent.

So, I looked online and found Setu. The guy made my trip. He is an experienced trekker and nature hike leader. His knowledge of Dhaka was fantastic. I really wanted to spend a lot of time on the waterfront so he catered to my wants.

Honestly, Dhaka does not have a ton to see in the sense of tourist attractions. The ones they have are not to be missed. The important thing is to have a guide who can get you through the back streets and tell you what is going on, and navigate you to the big attractions. The place is a fantastic sensory overload! Just rickshawing around is a thrill. Very crowded, of course, and the people do not bother you to buy things as in some of the other places in the region. I would say tourism is very low here. I only saw 5 other tourist at a tourist attraction.

Do it and you won't regret it. And Setu is a great guy who communicates very well and knows the ropes. This is a very effective way to get a clue as to what Dhaka is. And it is unique.

Setu arrived at my hotel on time at 0800 and spent the day guiding me around Dhaka. His English is extremely good and as I was a solo traveller it was just the two of us all day. I found him very easy to get along with and we were hoping on and off tuk tuk's and rickshaws together all day. He was very attentive to my needs and went beyond the call of duty to help me with some personal issues that occurred as a result of the earthquakes in neighbouring Nepal.

I would definitely suggest using Setu as a guide.

The tour itself was ok, there doesn't seem like there is much to do in Dhaka. The Pink Palace and Fort are the two main attractions but only take 30 mins each to visit. If you don't like being in the heat, noise and frantic traffic of Dhaka then you might prefer to arrange a tour with a car. As it was I could put up with it for a day as it was kind of part of the experience. There was a bit of waiting around when Setu was trying to find rickshaws or tuk tuk's (at no fault of Setu's) but I didn't mind. He was trying his hardest.

In summary the day was a success because of Setu, he's a great guy with good knowledge of Dhaka.

This was my first visit to Bangladesh, and Dhaka, so I wanted to discover the city with a local guide to try and understand a little bit more about the culture and the people of Bangladesh, in a very short space of time (1 day).

My tour with Setu was very interesting and well organized. After making arrangements by email, Setu came to my hotel in the morning and we took a tuk tuk to Old Dhaka, which is an area of the city that's full of history, culture and charms. You can visit the city at a leisurely pace, whilst having the reassurance of having a local expert by your side. Setu arranged all of the transport (tuk tuks, rickshaws, etc), a tea break, entrance fees and local lunch in a pleasant restaurant, so it was zero hassle. He also advised me when I could and could not take photos, gave me interesting facts about the temples, mosques and neighborhoods that we were visiting, and was genuinely a very friendly person to spend the day with !

We managed to visit numerous famous local sights, such as the Pink Palace, the Sadarghat, Hindu Street, Star Mosque, Dhakeshwari Hindu temple, the bazaars, etc.

Expect the streets to be teeming with life, and sensory overload from the sights, smells, and sounds of the Bangladeshi people going about their day to day lives.

A much recommended tour and guide ! Thank you, Setu !

I took two private day-trips with Setu Das: the first one to Old Dhaka and the second one to Sonargaon.

Setu was born and raised in Old Dhaka. So, he knows the routes well and has lots of stories to share. I especially enjoyed our tea break and the rickshaw rides, which I think it's best way to experience Old Dhaka. The pink palace was closed for Xams, Setu managed to convince the security guide to let me in the gate to get a picture taken! The Star Mosque was very beautiful, worth a visit.

On our trip to Sonargaon, besides visiting Panam City, Setu showed me several Hindu ruins he discovered recently, which were really a treat - truly reflecting the historical events occurred in the past 100 years.

I went on a day trip with Travel Planner in early August to an area a couple of hours away from Dhaka. The day included visiting multiple mosques and some attractions in the adjacent communities. The day was long and due to Eid some of the sites were not available but the guide and driver were both very flexible and worked to ensure I had the best possible time. I was able to see some beautiful mosques and two elephants that happened to be on the road when we were heading back to Dhaka.
