We greatly enjoyed our tour of the Sundarbans with Pathfriend Tours!

Everyone was very helpful and friendly, and worked hard to ensure that we had a safe and enjoyable time.

Highlights were:
- seeing a tiger, many crocodiles and leaping dolphins, and a boar swimming across the river
- the delicious, varied and freshly cooked food
- the peaceful small boat trips up canals, expertly manned by our hard working crew.

Thanks to the captain of our tour boat for spotting the tiger.

And special thanks to our guide, Mr Delwar, who was indefatigable in ensuring that we had an excellent boat tour and showed us two very interesting historic mosques and a tomb in Bagherhat, and saw us safely back to Dhaka on the overnight launch from Barisal.

My experience in Bangladesh was unbelievable. If you are someone who enjoys urban exploration or if you were raised on stories from Rudyard Kipling's 'Just So Stories' (or his other writings of this part of the world prior to partition) or watched the British series 'Jewel in the Crown' or film / book 'A Passage to India' you ABSOLUTELY MUST visit Bangladesh. There are many abandoned royal palaces in all their splendor waiting for you to visit. Yes, there are also royal palaces in India and Pakistan (I visited both countries) but in my opinion, the most majestic, exotic and mesmerizing are in Bangladesh. They have the original paint, tiles and glass pillars from more than 100 years ago. I cannot explain how beautiful they are. I think National Geographic should write an article about these palaces. You will never see palaces as stunning as those in Bangladesh because in many countries across Asia and Europe, the palaces are overly reconstructed to the point where there is barely anything original. These palaces give you a small glimpse of the incredible artistry and architecture of Bangladesh society.

My trip was fantastic, the guide and driver were so friendly and knowledgeable. The food was delicious and I never got sick from any food. I highly recommend the eggplant dishes, pineapples and ice cream. The ice cream is 100 times better than in USA or Europe because it is real milk ice cream with natural fruits, not low fat / fake sugar nonsense ingredients. If you are a vegetarian or vegan, there are plenty of options and if you do not like hot chilis, the restaurant will make food specially for you without chilis. The hotels were all excellent - comfortable bed, hot water and wifi. The people were very friendly and I always felt safe in Bangladesh.

The only bad thing about my trip was it was too short. Bangladesh exceeded my expectations thanks to Pathfriend tour company. Bangladesh is a little known jewel of a destination so I suggest visiting now before it becomes crowded one day with tourists. Bangladesh is definitely a top 5 country for me. Visiting the abandoned palaces was as if I walked into a dream of the past. You will never see palaces like this anywhere.

About 5 years ago i decided that i would like to visit Bangladesh. I researched the country heavily and made a list of all the places i needed to visit.

After making the list i researched tour companies in the country to help me get my visit executed.
i found 7 companies, which i sent the list to...to get pricing and to see who can actually help me get to all the locations. Out of the 7 only 2 companies were able to get me to the locations i had listed. from those 2 , I decided on PathFriend as the company i would use. They were more responsive than the other company that made the list.

For the next 4 years or so i stayed in contact with Pathfriend as i tried to make the trip a reality... i wanted to visit between NOV and APR. I also asked Pathfriend to give recommendations on what other locations they recommended i visit , in addition to my list. Mohan and Papon added additional items. In order to execute all the needed locations , i needed 29 days. to complete this.

Finally this year i was able to make it to Bangladesh and execute the 29 day plan. Mohan was my guide for first 14 days and Papon was my guide for the final 15 days.

Both guides were absolutely awesome, with each their own style and knowledge base. They were always on time, professional.
With Mohan, we used one driver to cover the north of the country. the driver was super on time and very fast. we also used some small boats to visit rivers.

With Papon we used numerous drivers, cruise ships, ferries, boats, Tuk Tuks and small boats to get to all the cities and the Sundarbans islands.

My experience with this company was absolutely awesome, way beyond my expectations!!!!! To travel Bangladesh is very difficult, with all writing and languages spoken in Bangali...its really hard to go it alone. Both Mohan and Papon speak english well. Before the tour and during the tour they were very responsive on whats app.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY AND ITS PEOPLE!!
I appreciate all their hard work and dedication to making my trip happen. Great People, Super company, Fantastic performance, and just enjoyable experience.
This company has to be one of the best in Bangladesh. SIMPLY SUPERB! FANTASTIC!!

This was a very well organised trip, with Papon/Eyasin being flexible enough to accommodate our particular interests. We loved the vibrant culture & friendly people. As our guide Eyasin had endless enthusiasm & patience & it was a privilege to get his insights about his fascinating country.
Eyasin was very helpful and helped us interact with the local people.
Bangladesh is a very vibrant country to visit and I would highly recommend Pathfriend and Papon to be your guide .

I recently went on a 15 days tour of Bangladesh with Pathfriend.

The trip was very well organised and exceeded all expectations.

Papon, the owner and guide, as well as his brother Mohan, provided excellent support before the trip in creating a bespoke itinerary for me. This is as well as arranging everything we needed for our visas. Both of them replied extremely promptly to any questions I had before the trip. The trip was reasonably priced and gave great value for money.

Papon was an excellent guide and very happy to accommodate our needs.

The main highlight was meeting local people, who were extremely friendly, hospitable and welcoming! There were so many other highlights of the trip, including walking round various markets, travelling by boat around the Sundarbans with an excellent crew, travelling down various rivers, visiting temples and mosques, walking in tea gardens and a rainforest, drinking eight layer tea and eating sweet cakes, travelling to tribal areas, dancing with locals, meeting Papon’s family, and swimming in the sea at Cox’s Bazar.

Due to not being able to get a permit for Rangmati we instead went to stay at Sylhet. We went to the Bangladesh and Indian border and on a riverboat trip.

I enjoyed the trip with Pathfriend so much that I’ve already arranged to go back to visit the parts of Bangladesh we didn’t visit in November 2026!🇧🇩✈️⛵️👍😊

Myself and my wife chose PathFriend Tour Operator for our customised Shakti Peeth trip in October 2023.
It was an out n out religious trip to 7 of the Shakti Peeths in Bangladesh of which 5 are official. The 5 Shakti Peeths which we understand and had made extensive study are -
1. Mahalaxmi Shakti Peeth,Jaunpur Village, Sylhet.
2. Bhawani Shakti Peeth, Sitakunda , Chandranath Hills , Chattogram .
3. Sugandha Shakti Peeth, Shikarpur , Barisal
4.Jashoreshwari Shanti Peeth, Ishwaripur , Shyamnagar.
5. Aparna Shakti Peeth, Sherpur Upazilla, Bogra District .
The 6th one is Jayanti Shakti Peeth at Bourbhag Village near jaintiapur , Sylhet District . This is a disputed one with claims of Jayanti Shakti Peeth at Nartiang Meghalaya also claiming to be the original one.
Ideally one can visit both and receive Mata's blessings .
The final one Sravani Shakti Peeth supposedly at Kumarikunda ,Chattogram is not even accessible as we tried being just about 5 km closer and were advised that there is no path or approach and it's in deserted jungle with nothing actually to visit , so we had to drop from visiting here
Right from stepping out of the airport and meeting Mr.Mohan , thr owner , Mr.Awal Mohammad , the tour guide and Mr.Shapon the tour car driver , we had a memorable happy most satisfying trip we could have expected even if we struggled quite a bit to get pure vegetarian dishes. It does not mean we starved or anything and both Mr Awal and Shapon took us to the best possible vegetarian food outlets and took all care for anything that we asked for.
They were excellent with their English language as communication is very important. Mr.Awsl is very knowledgeable and had a ton of information on almost all topics And our nain focus being to complete the Shakti Peeth visits with each of the places being far and quite strenuous with travels from minimum 3 hrs to 9 or 10 hours each journey . Both these personnel were exemplary human beings , most courteous , polite , totally helping , concerned for our comfort and requirements and we had built a very close relation by the time our trip ended in the 8th day .
All hotels except for one were classy clean neat with all comforts with good breakfast and excellent service. No complaints at all and we managed even with the one not so special as the people were too good to feel offended or disappointed .
Our best experience about our trip were the Bangladeshi people who are most humble , respectful , welcoming , and warm beyond words . This was a real surprise for us The country is truly green in most parts with fields and plantings all around . Apart from major cities and towns where there is quite a population and also a mighty kot if vehicles , autos and rickshaws including hand and electric driven ones , the country is not what it is being projected as and one must visit to enjoy true warmth and hospitality and embrace great Bangladesh culture and peoples love. There are quite a lot of places to visit and proper planning and preferences need to be worked out.
Chose the hotels of your choice and budget and inform your food preferences well in advance . The roads are quite good apart from specific areas but overall a wholesome satisfying trip and all thanks to Mr.Mohan , Mr.Awal and Mr.Shapon.
Religious or pilgrimage purpose or for that matter sight sering or country tour purpose travellers , I would honestly and strongly recommend Pathfriend Tour Operator without a doubt and believe they will always maintain and keep their services as good as we experienced .
Our best wishes always to PathFriend Tour Operator for any travel within Bangladesh .

Papon was a superb guide- I would highly recommend a trip with him around Bangladesh. He was so friendly, eager to show us everything each area & city had to offer- from attractions and sites, to food & experiences. His enthusiasm was great and made us excited about visiting each place. Our itinerary was well planned with the right amount of sites each day, and we used all types of local transport. One area was prohibited to go to so he re-arranged a few things and added a new area which was excellent. A fabulous trip- thank you!

Wow what an incredible trip that will stay with me forever. Papon our guide quickly got to know us and our love for food so went out of his way to ensure that we got to try as many different Bangladesh foods as possible. His kind manner and enthusiasm for every activity we did made it such an amazing experience. Any issues that arose (hey it’s a non tourist destination you need to expect this) were resolved quickly and nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend Pathfriend Tour Operator. Thank you for everything.

Bangladesh is a great little country, a gem in the rough for anyone interested in different ways of life, with a population that is extremely friendly and eager to welcome visitors. The Sundarbans, a World Heritage Site, allows you to visit the home of the great Bengal tiger and other wildlife by boat and canoe. Further north, remains of the glorious past with mosques and temples that remind us of other times. Finally, this has been possible thanks to the good work of Papoon from Pathfriend Tour, who with his permanent smile has transmitted joy throughout the trip.
