Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Really good place to spend an evening. Lots of food choices and a very, very welcome respite from the sleazy bars along the strip in downtown. Also, didn’t feel ashamed to be a westerner in a bar, like you can do along the strip, which is full of sad old men exploiting vulnerable young women.
We visited Back End Bar and they even facilitated getting us food from a neighbouring restaurant to eat at our table

A local showed me this early in my stay and I can recommend it as a fun area for bars and food. It's a kind of artificial hipster area but still very nice with winding lanes. If you are tired of the riverside center with the girly bars then this is a better spot

Had a fabulous time here. Ate dinner at Mama Wongs noodle house and had drinks at a couple of the bars. The one with the books is particularly good. Lots of restaurant choice, bars and live music. Everyone really friendly and out to have a good time.

Such a great find. Our favourite place for drinks & dining in Phnom Pehn. Upstairs at some of the bars (Harry's especially) was a great vantage point for taking it all in. Eclectic mix of bars, restaurants, buzzing. Some local, some international. Much better than the waterfront, had a great vibe without the 'overly touristy' feel.

If you want to spend an evening this is the right way. In a side street that might seem anonymous you arrive at this place full of small places. The street is very colorful given the decorations. There are places of all kinds and for all tastes (both for eating and drinking)

Only a short ride from our hotel, really nice bar and restaurant precinct. Look for "The Red Bus". It was only new and a really nice place for a meal and a few drinks. Owner was very friendly too. Excellent place!

I love the ambiance! Such a cute street with lots of cool bars! I really enjoyed taking a drink there before heading to dinner. They have really interesting price for happy hours and it is really cheap and good quality!

What a surprise to find this hip trendy little lane in the middle of a developing country!! Loved everything about it...the little wine bars, and decorations. Absolutely loved that you could sit in any restaurant/bar and order from any other restaurant and they would deliver it to you free of charge!!! That's unheard of in the western world!!
The prices of course are aimed at westerners but still completely cheap compared to Australian prices.
Can't wait to go back again!!

Yes, it's ok. Bars in Basaac Lane are primarily like pubs, live music, a lot of western restaurants. No girly bars in the area.

It differs from venue to venue, there are around 70 bars but yes, I'd say generally between 5 and 7pm. I enjoyed a buy one get one free cocktail until 8pm at a venue there I was too blackout drunk to take notice of the venue's name.
