While a cruise on the Butterfly is a relaxing experience, my party felt that it would have been that little bit better had the English proficiency of the guide accompanying us been better. No complaints about her enthusiasm but there were many sights where we had to ask and had so-so answers due to the language barrier. Plus point was... More

I have taken The Butterfly, and its sister boat The Mayfly, more than a dozen times and would do it a dozen more without hesitating. A great escape with friends, family, or your other half. You are welcomed by fantastic staff who offer you a drink of your choice. Nice setting and furniture, with great sounds coming from their sound... More

It was wonderful to be on a small boat with 4 others, sipping a beer, sharing travel stories and being informed by excellent staff of the sights we were passing. We were heading back but the sun had not set so they waited out there a little longer so we could get those photos. Only regret was it wasn't longer... More

This is a great way to enjoy 'fives' with friends; messing about in a boat on the Mekong, drink in hand, watching the scenery roll by. The Mayfly is a small timber boat that has been expertly restored. Smaller than the Butterfly, what she lacks in size, she makes up in personal service. Captain Kim was a gracious and informative... This is the only way to view what Phnom Penh has to offer from the Tonle Sap river and lake system that passes Phnom Penh and drains into the Mekong River. We were traveling in the style of the Original Old River Boats that were originally used for carrying Rice. They have been amazingly renovated back to their original condition, we traveled... The sunset cruise was a perfect way to see the river system and villages along the banks. It was lovely to have a beer and see some authentic Cambodian life. I would definitely recommend going with Butterfly as the guide explained many things about the local culture and answered our questions. A fun afternoon!

Nothing much to say, along the Tonle Sap and then the Mekong river, slowly with a cold beer while sunset arrives...if you want a short cruise, no dinner but including pick up from hotel and drink just do it! You will not regret it!

We got out of our Tuk tuk and walked down to where the boat was (actually there are two boats). The owner is a guy from New Zealand. I think his name was William. We asked if we could do a sunset dinner cruise the next night. He said that they usually need a little more time to organize the... More

This was a lovely evening. We booked the trip through our hotel. The captain was very friendly , knowledgable and made us all feel very comfortable. The butterfly is a former rice boat beautifully restored. The sunset cruise was approximately 2 hours long along the river. Although we didn't have a great sunset, the views of the river, developments and... More
