Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Similar to our White House in Washington, DC where our President and his family live, this Palace is closed to the public due to security reasons. We passed it several times during our tuktuk tour and noted that it is under renovation as the signs state.

Perhaps after the renovation, it might be open to the public - a wild guess on my part:

This is our 3rd visit to Vientiane and it seems that the Presidential Palace is not open for visitors so you just have to take a photo from the gate.

A pretty building that you will walk by while going around downtown Vientiane. Looks impressive enough on well-maintained lawns. No entry though.

Centrally located. However, you can only view this beautiful building from the gates.

We were in the area so took a peek through the gates, that is close as you can get. It is rather a nice building, with nice gardens surrounding it. and thats about it.. Wouldnt go out my way to visit it.

One thing that strikes you around Vientiane is the architecture and splendour of the public ministry's and buildings. They stand out from the other privately owned buildings. The Presidential Palace is no exception and you can see it from the back and the front but not go inside for a tour.

Imposing building completed in 1986 is the official residence of the Lao president. French influenced Beaux-Arts architectural style that is characterized by formal design and elaborate ornamentation. You can peer in and see the columns, shaded balconies and the balustrades, but enter the wrought iron gates, you cannot. A shame really as it is an impressive building and similarly well groomed lawns and gardens...
