Only 0.8% of the total population of Laos is Muslim by statistics. Majority of the Muslim population lives in the boarder regions with Myanmar. In Vientiane there should be only a very small minority. Therefore it was surprising to come across a mosque in Vientiane....More

A small mosque serving the Muslim community in the city. Located just off Namphou Circle, it is packed with worshipers during Friday prayers.

Located in the back of Islamic Center, near by Nam Phou Fountain, this Mosque is one of only two Mosques in Vientiane. It will be a lot of crowd during praying time.

Nice mosque in the center of Vientiane. We come for the Zuhur and Asar prayer. Stumbling the guardian of the mosque and a few people and asking the nearest halal food. =) It is great to see mosque in the majority of Buddha community.
