There is a production factory next door, and this is the sales floor.
The products are neatly displayed in a spacious area, giving it an even more luxurious feel.
The space is spacious and you can see each item carefully.
I think this is the only place where you can find so many products made from cashmere.
Unfortunately, there may be a lack of color variations and size options. Also, there are few products that give off a Mongolian feel, and their simplicity stands out. I would like it to be positioned as a luxury cashmere product that is unique to Mongolia.

A fun place to shop and beautiful cashmere everything from scarfs to blouses to heavy overcoats, all well made and beautifully displayed. We found the prices higher than most places and more than you would pay retail in the US.

This is a great place to pick up some of that cashmere, yak and camel that you have been longing for. There are three stores. The main one has lots and lots of choices from clothing, men's and women's to household. Color is not a worry. The organic store has only the natural colored items. No dyes being used. The last store has all the sale items. There is even a restaurant between the main store and the sale store. No trip to Ulaanbaatar would be complete without a trip to this store. Time here is well spent. For those that have time you can even have things made for you. They have the tailor you provide the sizing.

I still cannot get over how fabulous this cashmere is. I went in with a vague thought of buying a scarf. Well, I saw the rack of cashmere coats priced at $270 a pop and it was game over. Bought a beautiful black cashmere topcoat, a big black cashmere wrap and a blue cashmere pashmina for about US$600. The quality is exceptional, as good if not better than the equivalent in Italy or elsewhere. If you are traveling as far as Mongolia, do not miss this!

I was very lucky and got a ride through corporate dispatch and driver came in with me to do some translation. There are 3 stores here - main, organic and factory outlet. The factory outlet is the smallest and the selection is less, but there are some good finds. I bought a very nice cashmere sweater (paid about $80 US - 1/2 price). The main store is uber and has lots of choices. You can pay by credit card. Remember to keep your cashmere wrapped in plastic at home, so moths don't get into it.

Mongolian cashmere is the best cashmere in the world, and Gobi is the biggest factory in the country. It's factory store has a big selection, and when I was there many items were on sale. A big 100% cashmere blanket was $200, half off the usual price, scarves were $20 and up, and I bought a shawl for my wife for $85 which she loves. Jackets, sweaters, other items, on sale or at every day low prices. I also visited the downtown outlets, and found the prices the exact same on items that were in each location - but the factory store had a considerably larger selection. Worth visiting if you are shopping for cashmere - and who doesn't love cashmere?! My Christmas shopping is done.

Earlier reviews cirrectly describe the outlet. Choice is good, especially in the basics. Great quality for amounts rarely found in Europe or N.America. However, the colour choice is strange: lots of beiges (even beyond the otganic line) barely any black, lots of strong, bold colours. Service is pretty abysmal. Mongol seems the only language spoken. Cashier's staff on the verge of rude. Though the UB's themselves don't think so, other brands are not bad either. Goya upscale in Central Tower- gorgeous. On one of the floors in the main department store on Peace Street there was a good choice of different brands, designs and and colours for cashmere goods.

This is a nice factory store with lots of selections. It is not too far off the main highway to the airport, so it is a quick stop if you are in a hurry. Prices seemed reasonable, especially when compared with other stores.

I am not a good shopper; in fact, I hate shopping. But when I travel, I always like to bring a few things back for my loved ones. I managed to get something for everyone at the Gobi Factory Outlet. There is a range of items from sweaters, dresses, and baby clothes with a full range of pricing to go along with it. The place is huge and there is a ton of stuff. It is not about the "shopping experience" though, in the sense that service is atrocious. If you don't expect helpful or cheerful sales people, you will come out unscathed. While the store is clean and well merchandised, go there looking for a utilitarian experience. Go in there, look around, buy what you want, and then leave. PS: everyone loved the gifts!
