A little out of Colombo, but definitely worth the trip. You will require at least an hour to appreciate this place.

It's a good place. Visited it in November on a weekday, hence could see the idols without much rush. The location takes around 40 minutes from Colombo (Galle Face). One can book tuk-tuk on Uber. Wouldn't recommend a Colombo tour just to visit this temple,...More

This is probably the most important Buddhist Temple in Colombo. It's actually on the outskirts of Colombo on the road to the airport. Best visited early morning or at sunset.

I had a chance to have a Kalaniya Temple Visit during my Sri Lankan tour and this was an amazing experience in terms of understanding variety of religious cultural ceremonies and events.

Beautiful temple with Age-old Paintings. It is a must see place when you are in Colombo. Best time to visit in the morning or Evening. the whole environment gives serenity and Peaceful mind. it's around 12km from the city centre.
