Neighbourhood: Grand Bazaar
Tourists, hawkers, and locals come together at the Grand Bazaar to comb its labyrinthine passageways in search of a bargain – be it a pair of brand name jeans, a handcrafted silk rug, or a perfectly brewed cup of tea. Outside the vast bazaar, worn, narrow streets wind their way down from its lofty perch to the southern shore of the Golden Horn, where the evocatively aromatic Spice Bazaar beckons alongside the elegant New Mosque (opened in 1665). Nearby, the famed Galata Bridge offers pedestrian access to urban delights across the river in Istanbul’s more residential and contemporary neighbourhoods, while the must-see sights of Sultanahmet are but a leisurely stroll away.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We came to Istanbul with two luggages but thanks to my girlfriend's addiction authentic flavours we are gonna need another luggage. She bought everything she saw! Can't wait to taste her delicious foods with all these spices. It was not as crowded as we have seen on the videos due to pandemic so it was nice to wander around in these stunning building.

I went for the first time and I was excited! There were too many people, there were so many shops that you didn't know where to go first. He wants bargains there and you better have cash with you. I would definitely go again and it wants you to spend several hours walking around and haggling.

We visited the Grand Bazaar as part of our Istanbul day tour. I loved the fact that there was security set up at the entrance with metal detectors.
Very huge place! I wont recommend going without a guide otherwise, you will be pulled to pieces by traders prospecting you for sales
There are so many things to buy here, Spices, Turkish delight, herbs, dried fruit teas, carpets, decorative pieces.... endless in fact.
One note of caution, you will be made to taste almost everything in sight, the sellers are lightening quick to pack stuff and add to your purchases, before you know it, you have raked up hundreds of USD/ Euros in bill. Don't let them hurry you, be firm and confirm prices and the quantity they pack for you.
While we loved the stuff we bought, we were surprised at our huge bill of over USD 500. It was when we got back to the hotel that we realized that they had made us buy SAFFRON unknowingly !! .....The most expensive spice in the world. So be careful.
However, the fruit teas are divine! We bought apple and blackberry.(dried and grounded fruits, not tea bags) Also the dried fruits and nuts. The shop that our guide took us to sells amazing Turkish delight.
A must visit if you go to Istanbul.

The Grand Bazaar is one of the wonders of Istanbul. Its construction dates back to very old years, so it has a magnificent structure and historical artifacts, I recommend it to be seen.

We entered because I have always been curious about its historical texture, but I wish I had the opportunity to visit it before. Unfortunately, it has been invaded by Arabs...
