The Bospherous is beautiful, day and night, but find a better way to enjoy it than on a dinner/dance cruise. A truly horrifying experience that left us wishing for an iceberg to suddenly appear. Don't say you weren't warned.

We took a long and leisurely boat tour of the waterways separating the two sides of Istanbul (Asian & European). During which I was regaled, by my then fiancé's father, with the story of the Ottoman Turks carrying their ships over land to drop them...More

Don't just look at the Bosphorus, get on it. One of the best things we did was catch a ferry to Anadolu Kavagi, a small village on the Bosphorus at the mouth of the Black Sea. It's a 90 min trip from Eminonu and costs...More

There are multiple options. The cheapest is the 10 lira cruise to the second bridge and back (about 2 hours). There is no guide, but it is cheap and leaves once an hour. Find the boat by the ferry cruise terminal. The ferry service runs...More

These cruises start from docks located on both sides of the Galata Bridge. Our hotel suggested a tour that was around $80 per person. We booked a shorter and more informal cruise for 12 TL per person ($7.00 or so). The boat took us out...More

A very inexpensive day out. To take a tour of the Bosphorus on a cloudless sunny day and sit aboard the ferry as it slowly eases its way down the European side from the Galata Bridge to the Black sea is to witness history unfold....More

Our tour included a trip on the Bospherus. We went over to the Asian side and visited an old "Yalli" which was fascinating. The Bospherus is exciting to be on--many years of history and many different kinds of buildings. Was great to see many fishermen...More

We had a simple tour, no stops on the way - departure from a pier between Halic and Eminonu. It was 15 Turkish lira per person, not crowded and very nice cruising speed, so we can enjoy the view. There were people inviting... More
