Top ways to experience Istanbul Resim Ve Heykel Muzesi, Mimar Sinan Guzel Sanatlar Universitesi and nearby attractions
The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Karakoy
Sitting pretty with an age-old air about it, Karakoy is situated on the European side of the Bosphorus at the mouth of the Golden Horn. Perhaps the city’s most historically significant area, it’s currently one of the most happening parts of town as well. Here street vendors and alfresco fish restaurants line the banks of the Horn where the views of major attractions across the water rival Karakoy’s own key attractions, such as the iconic 14th century Galata Tower and the Museum of Modern Art. A major hub for local and international waterborne traffic, Istanbul’s commercial and maritime heritage remains as relevant and evident as ever in Karakoy. Commuter ferries mingle with luxury cruise liners at its busy port, ensuring a continuously cosmopolitan flow of people..

Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The permanent collection of this museum was displayed at Dolmabahçe Palace from 1937 to 2012 and since the opening of Galataport Istanbul, the whole museum is located at the newly refurbished current building.
This is the first modern museum of Turkey and it reflects the artistic trends of early Turkish Republic. The current exhibition is very well designed and the new building bearing the signature of award winning Turkish architect Emre Arolat is also very impressive.
The entrance to the museum is free. The museum shop is small yet very rich. Museum café is cute and cozy.

This museum, adjacent to Dolmabahçe Palace houses a fine collection of 19th and 20th century paintings. For example, you can see works made by the painter and archeologist Osman Hamdi Bey. Severa portraits of the Ottoman sultans make this museum worth to visít. Price is 300 TL, I chose a combined ticket with Dolmabahçe Selamik& Harem+ Resim Muzesi =1050 TL. Visiting the Museum of Fine Art takes about one hour.

The museum is located in the historical Crown Prince building within the Dolmabahçe Palace, in a beautiful garden. It is a painting museum located in a very large area where the paintings of famous painters of the Ottoman and Republican periods are exhibited.

This museum can be visited with the entrance ticket to the Dolmabahce palace (which is quite expensive). There are two floors and the rooms are themed with beautiful paintings.
