Did not make a ride on the Beyoglu, but I've seen it crossing the streets a couple times during my visit. It really gives the street its own atmosphere.

If you are in Istambul don´t forget to visit Beyoglu District. In this part of the city you will find ¨The Grand Rue¨ a pedestrian mall filled by lots of pettite nice restaurants and shops. Also you´ll be able to Galatasaray Square, Galata Tower and many other attractions.

I explored this area of the New District wandering a bit randomly and kept encountering nice discoveries. Lots of cats and cat condos in the area who appear to be well fed by those working or living in the area.

To take the ride are just fascinating and a cheap tourist trap in the positive way. The history are very interesting from the position in the tram.

This is the place to get a hotel. All the cool night spots are around here. It is a lot more affordable than Sultanahmed. There are cool bars, jazz club, boutique shopping, small businesses, 2nd hand store, and cool hang out spots.

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighbourhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
