It's great feeling walking on Galata bridge good view of Istanbul. Lots of people get together they do fishing doing their own Turkish tea while they're waiting for a fish. Good location.

It's great to walk over the bridge and see all the fisherman fishing off the side of it and it's also lovely to walk underneath the bridge, along the waters edge. Great photo opportunities.

Next to the galata tower you can do some boat trips from the galata bridge. Just take the boats local uses to go to the various locations and for almost nothing you can enjoy a few hours and admire different parts of the city. Walk thru the bridge to really enjoy the views and be able to take some gesture... More

I have been always taking the Tram from Eminönö to Karaköy but we decided to have the beautiful walk this time over Galata Bridge. You would find people fishing 🎣 as you can rent the fishing kit with a reasonable price for a change, the view is magnificent were you will see Eminönö , ferries and the some important landmarks... The Galata bridge is a bridge where you can feel vibrant just by walking among the fishermen on both sides of the bridge or having a cup of coffee or a meal in one of the restaurants & coffee shops all along the bridge while watching the ferry boats & people walking by

Staying in Grand Bazaar

Neighbourhood Profile
Grand Bazaar
Tourists, hawkers, and locals come together at the Grand Bazaar to comb its labyrinthine passageways in search of a bargain – be it a pair of brand name jeans, a handcrafted silk rug, or a perfectly brewed cup of tea. Outside the vast bazaar, worn, narrow streets wind their way down from its lofty perch to the southern shore of the Golden Horn, where the evocatively aromatic Spice Bazaar beckons alongside the elegant New Mosque (opened in 1665). Nearby, the famed Galata Bridge offers pedestrian access to urban delights across the river in Istanbul’s more residential and contemporary neighbourhoods, while the must-see sights of Sultanahmet are but a leisurely stroll away.
