Top ways to experience Gulhane Park
The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.

    Palace and Parks….Stunning
Istanbul is a city that never stops giving. The mosques and palaces and parks. From Byzantines to the Ottoman Empire, what history they created in the former Constantinople? I passed the palace and wandered into Gulhane Park. The flowers, fountains and many trees to explore. I believe it will be breathtaking during the summer with abundant flowers. The palace walls remind me of the city of York in the United Kingdom. On leaving the park, head towards the Bosphorus strait and absorb the Turkish way of life. I will be back in July to witness the blooms.

    Nice Park
Probably the most popular tourist park in Istanbul. Lovely walking paths and green space convenient to the Bazaar and Hagia Sophia. The playground was a bit small and very crowded, but still worthwhile.

    A nice park to visit
Gulhane Park (English for Rosehouse Park) was once part of the outer garden of Topkapi Palace. It is a nice place with a natural landscape and used by many and worth a visit if in the area. We came across it as we walked towards Topkapi Palace from our hotel.

    A beautiful stroll
A wonderful little free entry garden right beside the walls of the Topkapi Palace. Originally it was part of the gardens of the palace but was converted into a public park a century ago. The best time to visit is typically in spring but it is always a nice place for a stroll or maybe for reading. In my opinion it is a must when you are in the area. There is also a new museum inside the garden, the museum of the history of science and technology in Islam.

    Lovely Park
The views were amazing. Its quite a huge park. There are plenty of benches to sit and relax or have a picnic. From the park you can walk to the fishing port and watch people fishing by the sea or can eat at the very big restaurant. The park is very clean and there is a water fountain.

    an oasis
Amazing, just walk a dozen steps in and everything is a few degrees coolers, a few decibels quieter, the air cleaner and clearer. All the park and gardens in Turkey are inviting, restful, peaceful and clean. lovely cats and dogs but no faeces lying around. animals are well cared for. They even have a waterfall that spells out a few words like "welcome"

This historic park, once the royal garden of the Ottoman Empire, is now a public park that offers tranquility and natural beauty. Its well-maintained pathways, surrounded by a variety of trees and flowers, offer a peaceful escape. Its scenic views of the Bosphorus and historical monuments, like the Goths' Column, add to its charm. Gülhane Park is perfect for leisurely strolls, family picnics, and experiencing Istanbul's natural beauty amidst its urban hustle.

A historical park surrounded by 500-year-old trees, right in the middle of the city, where the only thing to breathe is the sounds of birds.

Wonderful place to spend the day with the family. Wish there were more activities for the kids to do.
There was no entrance fee and the park was free of charge for everyone. It's so close to the Topkapi palace making it a perfect place to visit after seeing the palace.

Gülhane Park is very beautiful: there are some interesting little sights (the Column of the Goths: the oldest Roman column; the rest of a Bizantine Orphanage; a sweet little Cistern), beautiful manicured grounds (even more beautiful in spring/summer) and the Gülhane Alphabet…little stories about Istanbul that keep you entertained…
