Masada is amazing and I never knew about Herod's palace here. Mosaics and columns... partially in place. It faces North to look on the land his wife came from and maybe as the Temple protects the North of the city of Jerusalem, perhaps his ego had him envisioning himself as the protector of all he ruled? 3 levels of palace,... Like the rest of the ruins in Masada the Western Palace is beautiful and offers interesting stories for those who go with a guide.

Place is incredible, views are absolutely astonishing, we saw it on the 'Royal Tour with Prime Minister' Video and it totally blew our minds.

It takes a bit of courage to climb the stairs down - they are attached to the side of the mountain so there is quite a drop on the side. It's totally worth it. And the view is amazing - the mountains on one side and the Dead Sea all the way to the horizon. And some Roman encampment ruins... More

Beautiful location. Excellent lobby, spa, indoor pool, jacuzzi outdoor pool and fab seaside faciliites, We spent the day here so Idont know what the rooms are like but from heresay they are also first class. There was an excellent poolside musician to enjoy while we were in the pool. A thoroughly enjoyable day.

I have heard about Masada for many years. It was so amazing to visit and actually see firsthand the intricacies of the palace and the different parts of the ruins. Our Tour guide was very knowledgeable and was not only able to answer all of our questions but was pursued by other visitors who had questions for him. It is... More

Its very interesting to see the palace and how it was well equipped ... the story is very sad indeed; but you can have a grasp of how things really went.

Visiting Masada and seeing the construction of this fort is impressive. It is easily accessible via cable car and its worth the time and effort it takes. If you enjoy history this is the place for you.

Easily accessible via cable car. It is absolutely amazing what people have done at this time. During a tour, you can admire the fortifications, cisterns, storage rooms and even a sauna. The palace itself is located on several levels and offers a beautiful view of the Dead Sea.
