Tikotin is a museum celebrating Japanese art, and is the only such museum in the Middle East. It is located on Hanasi Street on the Carmel Mountain in Haifa. There is always some sort of exhibition going on centering on Japanese art, but this place is much more just a museum. It is also a social center, and in the... More

This shouldn't be called a museum. Most galleries possess larger exhibitions. There are 3 rooms in total, 2 of them contain contemporary art, while the cental hall holds some nice samples of late 19th century ceramics. Provided the cost of tickets, there is really limited value in visiting this place.

Located on Hanassi Ave. on top of the Carmel mountain (near 3 hotels so you can walk from your hotel), it is a wonderful experience of Japanese old and new art. Highly recommended

This museums collection was donated to the city of Haifa by a private collector- Tikotin. It has an extensive collection + it gets exhibitions from the outside. It is a beautiful building, with very many cultural activities. Yona s

Modern Graphic Art to be admired in this small but beautifully designed museum is of excellent quality. Refinement, aestheticism, purity and great technical skill is presented in a good number of works: silkscreen, etching, engraving and lithography are beautifully shown. Japanese art at its best. Most of the prints were made in the 70s and 80s, so quite recent. Apart... More

This was a nice museum but very small. It is only one floor with a theater and cafe on the second level. If you go there, consider buying the five museum pass. It is only a few shekels more that the price for one.

Visited for about an hour one afternoon. Cost about £5 to get in and has a single floor exhibition space divided between a range of 18th century Japanese wood prints and a modern fashion photographic exhibition. Café on the first floor and small souvenir shop. Easy to find off Louis Promenade.
