Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Entrance is free. There are of course the roses. Every rose bush has its name. There are shown with their original country, or with their shape. There is a pond and a Japanese garden, also e small waterfall. Birds like this place, and is not rare to be joined by a hoopoe. Many paths lead to the park. On Friday morning you see groups of people enjoying the fresh air doing tai-chi. One thing you do not find....noise!

The Wohl Rose Garden, like many other hidden places in Jerusalem, is not considered important enough for a specific trip, but is well worth visiting when one is passing by.
I frequently walk back to central Jerusalem or Mea Shearim after a visit to the Israel or Bible Lands Museums. The fresh air and constant breezes are a welcome change from the perfectly balanced museum atmosphere.
Crossing the street from the museums near their bus stop and then crossing again towards the Knesset one then turns left. A few minutes later and after crossing another intersection, one is at one of the walkway entrances to the Garden.
Within seconds it is easy to forget where you are and one soon becomes absorbed in reading the labels and mentally trying to remember which one would look best in one's borders back home. It is also fun to look for broken shards of pottery within the top soil/mulch of the gardens.
These can date anywhere from Greco-Roman through Byzantine/Islamic up to Ottoman and Mandate periods. After examining them I leave them on the garden borders for others to enjoy.
At any point one can stroll back up paths and re-join modern day Jerusalem to continue past new apartments and risk life and limb crossing multi-laned thoroughfares.
A related bonus for me this year was to have chanced upon the graves of Maurice Wohl and his wife as I visited the grave of Rav Ovadia Yosef for the first time in the Sanhedria cemetary. They are buried just a few plots above him. I thought it a little more than coincidental that two people who I greatly admired should have their final resting spots so close together !
Though I do not visit the Rose Garden every year, I do try and pop every couple of years. It is a comforting constant to know one can depend on it being there from year to year.

Possibly because of the long winter, there were plenty of buds, but not that many roses in bloom.
Definitely worth another visit.

On an exceptionally beautiful, warm Saturday morning we went to stroll in this strategically located garden connecting the Israeli parliament building (Knesset) and Supreme Court complex. I easily found parking on the main street across from the Finance Ministry buildings.
I sat for a time to enjoy the quiet. No road noise and few visitors so you could hear the bees busy buzzing around the blue rosemary flowers. The roses were just beginning to burst forth from their winter hibernation so there weren't many flowers yet. Highly recommended to visit in the early hours of Saturday morning.

We recently visited Jerusalem and used public bus in route to the Museum of Israel and Bible Lands Museums. During both bus journeys we passed right beside the Wohl Rose Garden, which is near to the museums.
At this time of year (end of April/early May) the roses were in full bloom along the side of the road and as far back as we could see into the garden from the roadside. It looked flush and very beautiful. We really wished we would have had time to explore the garden grounds.
In short, it does seem like this is the time of year to spend time at the Wohl Rose Garden if you enjoy this sort of sightseeing during your travels.

I visited this park in January. Not many roses were in bloom but I still enjoyed it. It's a lovely area to explore. Highly recommended.

A beautiful spot: full of bushes with so many blooms, and ones that have the perfect shade of red. Close to the Knesset and Israel Museum and in between major roadways and amidst hills, its positioning makes it oasis like.
