Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

After an exhausting flight we arrived around 21.30 at YMCA. Our first contact was with Jalil, that welcomed us at the reception. He gave us all the details about our staying, and he gave us the keys. We were at the 3 floor, on the back side of the hotel. Right near the entrance there is a small elevetor where we succed to enter together with our lugagges. The room had a decent size, clean with a big bathroom. We were 3 adults but we managed to stay just fine into the room. The storage place was Ok, we had a TV set that we did not opened-we did not have time, a fridge where to store water or anything else that was necessary. Evenif we were very tired we could not stayed in our room. We went down and we took some pictures because the hotel was spectacular with its tower and architecture. It is amazing. Breakfast starts at 7.00 and it is down stairs. You can sit inside the restaurant or on the terrace. We prefered sitting on the terrace. The breakfast was among the best I knew. A lot of good salad, cheese, oliver, eggs, patisery, tomatoes. Tea and good coffee. Their special bread was very good, too. And the orange juice was very tasty. We had as neighbours 2 nice cats waiting for our mercy, to feed them. For the third day we were going on an dat lu trip and we asked for a breakfast to go. Was the best breakfast bag someone had prepared for us. We had almost everything we were eating in the morning, nicely packed. We had so many thing to do and we did not had time to enjoy their new pool facility. Maybe next time. We had the chance to climb into the tower to take wonderful pictures. No fee was asked.
The cleaning of the room was done on the daily basis. One thing I did like-not enough plugs. This problem was solved at the reception by asking a multiple plug. Sabreen took care about this. She was very nice. She took our lugagges into the special room, so we can move freely on our last day. We had lunch into hotel twice. They had a business lunch for a very resonable price for Jerusalem. Soup or salad, a main course on chioce and ice cream or hot drink-52 NIS.
I totaly recommend it.
The hotel is situated very closed to Mamilla mall and to Jaffa gate. From here you can reach on foot any point in old Jerusalem.
It is true, rooms need a little update, but the location, food and the willingness of the personel compensate this.
If I am coming to Jerusalem this is a hotel where I would love to return. I can feel like I am still there.

Perfect location. We walked everywhere from here during our stay in Jerusalem. The hotel in a 15 minute walk to the old city and the Wailing Wall. There is also a very modern outdoor mall right down the street if anyone desires to do some upscale shopping. We thought the front desk staff was very helpful with dinner and sightseeing tips. Upon arrival, when we called to ask for replacement of 2 burned out light bulbs in our room, we had a hotel staff member arrive within 5 minutes. He replaced all the lights in the room with new bulbs. Great customer service overall. On site parking was also very convenient. We loved the garden and seating area outside the hotel, as well as the lovely lobby. There is a tower in the hotel that you can walk up to and get a fantastic view of all of Jerusalem and the Judean Hills. The hotel is right across from the King David Hotel.
The hotel lobby is beautiful, but the rooms are in need of updating. They are old and worn, but very clean. Breakfast was mediocre, but the breakfast area is beautifully set in a flower garden.

For 10 NIS this climb is well worth it. You can either walk up all the stairs (6 flights) or get the lift. The views are 360 degrees over Jerusalem and stunning. Obviously it's recommended to go on a day with good visability- we had such clear skies we could see the mountains in Jordan in the distance! One flight below the deck you can see where all the bells are kept....before you make the descent back down!

I was staying close by and noticed the Y had yoga classes, so I walked over and asked to be in the class. The cost was 95 nis for a drop in class, $27 US. The price was too steep for me, so I went back to our apartment and did my own class.

Room facing the (VERY) noisy kindergarten underneath the hotel.Plus lots of noise from the storageroom that was next to room. Add that to a dark and depressing room with a very small window. Was looking forward to staying in this landmark hotel and booked it specifically. Was not expecting this though.
Breakfast was ok. Free parking a plus. Would not really recommend it to anyone. Shame. It had such great promise.

The restaurant is very nice situated down town Jerusalem. The price is low but the quality is less than in the other restaurants in the neighborhood. The servants are not very alert and it takes a long time before you get served.

As a former Jerusalem girl, I passed by this place almost everyday, and was amazed when I got to the top of the tower, absolutely breath taking!

YMCA is close to the Old City, across from the famous King David Hotel that over the years has hosted famous political figures from all over the World. Next to it is Abraham Lincoln street, and there you find the Headquarters of the Seventh-day Adventist Mission in Israel, with rooms to rent. YMCA should be considered for conferences and places to stay overnight. It is pleasant and quiet.

Great for views of Jerusalem in every direction. They ask for a small donation. The tower itself is a mixture of architectural styles and worth a visit.
