A valuable and exciting experience, even for history-saturated Europeans who have seen 2,000 y/o stuff before. Good for any age, mainly 6+ to 60+, requires some agility for a steep ladder and getting up from the ground after digging. Optional cave-crawling for the more agile...More

Went with our tour group. Missy was our guide. She was extremely knowledgeable and interesting! Gave a history of the area and the site then lead us down to section #89. We broke up into 3 groups to dig...yes really dig! My husband and I...More

This was definitely a highlight of our trip to Israel. Seeing artifacts in a museum cannot compare to holding an object in your hand that was last held by another person 2,000 years ago. Our family was lucky enough to find: 2,000-year-old pottery, bones, kiln...More

We met the guides at a gas station outside of Beit Guvrin. I don't think that they arrange transportation for the participants. Groups arrived by car or with their own tour buses. This dig is at Beit Guvrin all year round... More
