This castle was visited as part of a tour of the Desert Castles. It is Situated just of the highway. It has been restored in part and when we visited there were no other people so we were able to explore at leisure. No much information at the site, only a couple of information plaque and of course a tent... More

I must say that we were expecting something more "grand", as part of our Desert Castles Tour. We were the only ones there and we could walk around (and in and over and on top) freely. In half an hour we'd seen the lot.

This is a beautiful building. There are no guides so it would be a good idea to read up on it first. However, there is a detailed explanation of the building's history inside. The building is in need of restoration but it's easy to understand which parts are rooms or storage spaces, and there are lots of beautiful features to... More

Visited as part of the desert castle loop. It is situated off a major highway, but we were the only people visiting. There is a tent with refreshments and souvenirs, but not much information. Just inside the main entrance there is an information plaque, other than that there is no information. However, you get free rein to visit all rooms... More

A big square block on the desert plain. Looks great. A bunch of rooms to walk through and the sheltered interior can be good for lunch. Pity it's right next to the highway.

we visited this castle with 3 young children and they (and we) absolutely love it. They could climb and run and we could see the old ruins. we did not have to pay here. there is a ticket office though..

Very atmospheric games you back to days gone by. Not at all busy which adds to the ambience, quite easy to get to but feels in the middle of nowhere.

This castle is one that is easily accessible if you take the 'desert castles' circular drive out of Amman, and is one of the best I think. It is an imposing site with surprises inside like well preserved mosaics. Worth the drive for sure.

It was a interesting place to visit if you do all three castles. Not much on the history overview but worth a quick pop in.

This place is a sort of ancient inn on the way from Damascus to Saudis. We've spent some 45 mins there with a local guide, whom we've hired on the spot for 5 JD, and it was absolutely worth it. Without a guide we would not even get a proper flavor of the place. Please mind, that this is not... More
