The floor of this old church is covered in a number of fine mosaics, protected from the elements by an ugly stone building. It is not a functioning church

The whole place was dusty - as may be expected but not so much that the mosaics were not visible. Men sitting around in ticket booth should get in there and make the visit memorable for the right reasons.

If you happen to be in Madaba then it's worth finding this site which is located down the hill from the main centre. We spotted it by observing what were obviously tourists looking exhausted as they climbed the hill following their visit. The church is...More

It is not a real church because the only remains are the floor with its very beautiful mosaics. During the visit there was a kind of guardian who throw some water on the mosaics. The effect with the water was completely different and you can...More

This attraction is included in your Jordan pass. The guard checks your entry either on your phone or you can get a printout. We parked on the side of the street. Its definitely out of the way from the center of town and its not...More

It's kind of hard to see this one. You are on a ramp, high above the mosaic and really can't get right down to it. It's kind of faded compared to others in town. But you should see it if you have the time.

The main mosaic on display is a superb example dating from 578 showing a Greek goddess emerging from the sea and housed in a round medallion. It is in excellent condition. There are also a couple of other mosaics which are not accessible from the...More

If you are willing to see a beautiful mosaic without tons of people standing around head to this pretty church and look at the people working to restore it. It represents Thalassa and there are many other topics but it misses more explanations.
