    Great experience
After so many negative reviews about the baggage, I was so much worried that my big bag will have to go by saudi post. I must tell there was no issue at all! No one is bothering about your bags! Not how many you have, not how is the measurement nor the weight! And I was not the only one! One train arrived and many had big bags and mine was 65cm without rolls. And in my train had several even bigger bags! Maybe it was in Ramadan or Hajj season where the complaints came from? Anyway it was a pleasant journey and people came even 3 min before the train departed. Just one issue, if you want proper food, get it before you enter the departure area.

    Haramain train mecca to madinah
Excellent service and very comfortable train. There is a small cafeteria serving hot &cold drinks as well as a few snacks and chocolates. Very fast train ( less than 2.5 hours from mecca to Madinah) and electric sockets are available for charging your devices.

Time saving, but read this before you travel
Pros :- 1. Saves lot of time when travelling between Makkah, Jeddah and Medina. 2. Online ticketing option via mobile app is very user friendly and easy. Ticket management options have excellent flexibility. 3. The stations are very clean and well maintained and feels like an airport with almost all amenities needed. 4. They provide paid shuttle bus services from station to holy mosque localities at nominal rate, which is useful when travelling alone. 5. Business class has an excellent lounge facility where you can relax and snack while waiting for departure, but they don’t allow early entry. Cons :- 1. Never buy ticket from the counter in station, however late you are. You lose 50% discount available on the mobile app, thereby paying double like me. 2. The counter staff are least bothered to inform you about point No. 1. I ended up paying flight fare, as he gave me option only for business class for my slot. 3. The ticket rates are dynamic and keeps increasing as we move closer to departure time. So better to purchase bit early if possible. 4. Be aware of the luggage size and weight restrictions per passenger, else you may end up paying for the extra weight. 5. No wifi provided either in station, lounge or train

Clean fast smooth experience except for the ticket purchasing experience.
A fast but costly option. We had no issues with our legs suitcases but the booking app was not working and the ticket machine at the station was out of order. We paid premium prices at the ticket counter for business class tickets. The agent claimed that economy tickets were sold out. This was an outright lie.

Great smooth and fast Train to Madinah
Amazing train service and very comfortable. We traveled from Jeddah to Madinah for a day trip by this train service. It took less than 2 hrs each way, the fast speed train allowed us a quick day trip. The seats in economy were very comfortable and lots of room with cable charging facility. The train station is beautiful, large and very well organized. The train goes at high speed but one does not feel anything, really smooth ride.

    A Train Experience
To start with the booking and ticketing procedure, 8 was disappointed. The App didn't work properly and the call center number was out of order. I was finally able to contact them the 2nd day, explained my problem and the lady attending to my call suggested I buy a new ticket (although I explained to her repeatedly that I had already received a debit for the ticket amount from my credit card bank). Not having a choice I agreed to purchase a new ticket and pay again I raised several complaint emails, but have not yet received any response despite the auto reply. Anyway, the travel experience itself (the train stations, staff helpfulness, availability of snacks and drinks onboard, punctuality, cleanliness and information, besides the comfort of seating) made my day, and I am certain to repeat the experience...!!

There is no luggage issue at all. Alhamdulillah
The train is v nice and comfortable. We didn't face any luggage problems at all.we were 7 people in all with 7 big and 7 small suitcases. After reading from trip advisor, we each brought one big suitcase of 25 kg. Our suitcases were a little bit bigger than the train recommended sizes but no one said anything. They didn't ask us how many pieces we had with us. For porter the charges were v expensive 70sr. We didn't take a porter.

Haramain App crashed and didn’t receive any ticket.
I booked the ticket for Makkah to Medina HRR app. I didn’t sign up for the app, but app let to book the ticket. After I finished doing payment, I got the booking reference and saying I will get the email aswell. But when I try to save ticket to my I phone there was no save option, save buttons was greyed out or that page wouldn’t let me to go back. Point to be noted is note the booking number by penciling it at least you can print later. So, coming to the conversation I have to close the app, I didn’t take any screenshots and I didn’t receive email or I didn’t know the booking reference. Left me in hot water. So, I called customer service +966 9200 04433, lady was very helpful. I got the booking reference in 2 minutes. After I got the reference, I went to my booking, still I couldn’t save or print in my I phone. Finally, I found out if you click the disabled save button, it will save your ticket. Finally I did. 😀

I really don't know where to start. I was looking forward to experiencing the Business class HHR service to madinah but was very disappointed. Paid 3,000 Riyals for 4 tickets. The only positive was the train ride was smooth and it arrived in a timely manner. The rest was a trainwreck:

1. The business class lounge had a poor selection of refreshments and snacks. There was the illusion of a wide variety of food however, every serving dish contained the same thing

2. There were interactive screens behind every seat but when I enquired there were no headsets to use them

3. NO WIFI AVAILABLE ON THE TRAIN. Something which I would have thought would be a basic provision for a business class service. Could not do my work on the go.

4. The food was recycled from the lounge. Dry bread with some lentils. Stale vegetables and cake. I was only allowed a quarter glass of juice as they had run out. Any other drinks, snacks, tea etc were an additional charge. Only after complaining was I reluctantly given a bottle of juice.

5. The general attitude and demeanour of the staff was poor. No willingness to go out their way to provide the "first class" service I had paid good money for.

The overall experience left a sour taste in my mouth. Both metaphorically and physically due to the dry date cake.

We changed our tickets at the last minute. The website mentions a refund policy, but I did not receive any refund after 2 months. Otherwise, the travel was quite comfortable and enjoyable.

They have specific luggage sizing if you want to carry your bags with you on the train. Unfortunately the rules are not the same for everyone but are at the whims of the Arab guy working at check in. He decides whose luggage he wants to let go and whose to confiscate and have sent by another train . So imagine reaching Makkah and performing Umrah and then not having clothes to wear. Some people told us that you could bribe the trolley attendants and they could help you slip through with your luggage. I do not know if that is true. Such horrible behavior from them when one has gone there to purify one of sins.

Download and use the Mobile App. Much easier to book via the app than online website. Also note, when booking, if you want a forward-facing seat, book the opposite way of travel shown on the app. First journey, we booked facing the direction of travel and our seats were facing backwards. Second journey, we booked facing opposite to direction of travel and our seats were forward facing.

Super fast, super convenient, worth going on the longer journeys on the train - i.e. Jeddah-Madina or Makkah-Madina. We didn't use from Makkah to Jeddah airport, preferred Taxi for door-to-door experience.
Otherwise, well worth taking the trains. When arriving at Madinah station and then later at Makkah station, we took taxis to the haramain, both times costing 50SAR each. We did travel after ramadhaan, off-peak, hence why the price. We were told the price can be more than twice that amount during peak times, so be aware.
The train journey itself is comfortable enough, around 2hrs, and seems somewhat safer than traveling by road. Number of bags etc, were not checked, but again maybe because of travelling off-peak season.
Prices:
Jeddah-Madinah - 138 SAR (approx £30.00) per person (18 Apr)
Madinah - Makkah - 172.50 SAR (Approx £38.00) per person (22 Apr)

I had a disappointing experience during my recent train journey. Passengers, including elderly individuals, were abruptly asked to relocate without prior announcement, causing confusion and discomfort. This lack of communication and consideration for vulnerable passengers is concerning.

To enhance the passenger experience and ensure inclusivity, I recommend the following improvements:

1/ Clear Announcements and Assistance: Crew members should provide clear announcements before departure, informing passengers of any required relocations. Additionally, assistance should be offered to those in need, ensuring they are guided to their new seats with ease.

2/ Accompaniment and Support: Elderly, disabled, or pregnant passengers should receive dedicated support during the relocation process. Staff should assist with carrying belongings, particularly for those with mobility aids.

3/ Respectful Treatment: Every passenger deserves to be treated with respect and care. Prioritizing the comfort and safety of all passengers, regardless of age or ability, is essential for a positive journey experience.

Implementing these measures will not only improve passenger satisfaction but also demonstrate a commitment to inclusive and compassionate service.

The train does what it does best very good speed, on time for pick up and gets to destination on time but Absolutely disgusting staff on board. As a person that can’t speak Arabic, I tried to communicate in simple English and instead of replying back politely saying she doesn’t understand, she kept rolling her eyes and speaking in Arabic. No customer service skills at all; just felt unwelcome and look down on. Someone seriously need to look into this as the staff are extremely bad.
