The ladies at the Mosque graciously loaned out abayas to the women in my grouo and helped us put them on correctly. We had a guide who showed us the Mosque and answered an array of questions about their beliefs and the architecture. The Mosque is grand, but it retains a sense of the sacred. It was definitely a highlight... More

This is the second time I've visited the Great Mosque. They do a really good tour - led by a guide. Ladies are given the appropriate clothing in order to go into the main mosque. The tour is interesting & informative. Some lovely things to check out inside- beautiful chandelier, niche, windows etc. Informative & lovely architecture.

The masjid is amazing and well taken care of. It is quite big and the decoration is nice. The Imam their is famous and for sunnah group only. It has a special library for islamic books and you can look for fatwa.

After living in Bahrain for over 7 years I finally took my mum and sister on a visit to the Grand Mosque. After dressing in thobe and abiyas we were then escorted by an extremely knowledgeable ladly tour guide. We were even lucky enough to be present at prayer time and were allowed to wacth quietly from the balcony. We... More

We visited it on a Thursday, the guide was great. The fiberglass dome weighs 47 tons the chandelier weighs 3.5 tons. A lot of imported tiles and marble. The place holds 2,000.

This is a beautiful mosque to visit. Definitely worth it. You can have a free guided tour of the mosque where extremely friendly locals will explain everthing about the mosque, the islam, their way of life etc. An authentic cultural experience that cannot be missed.

A grand and opulent mosque, showcase of the country, with free 30' tours of the interior. Less informative and interesting than you might expect, if you are a seasoned traveller, though.

We went to this mosque in the evening and it was really a beautiful sight to see. I had never seen a mosque before so I was very excited to be here , and it was definitely one awesome experience. The inside of the mosque so very very beautiful and clean. It's very quiet and serene. The lights are simply... More

1st time visiting a mosque. Really felt very comfortable with the friendly staff (welcoming). The tour guide was very open and I managed to clarify some new things. The architecture of the Mosque very pleasant and the trip is worth a visit.
