Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

An activity I enjoyed in Kuwait City was a visit to the Central Fish Market between the Dhow Harbour and the Sharq Shopping Mall. It is located in an attractive building evoking traditional desert architecture. In the interior the walls have special decorations.
Naturally it smells in a fish market, but overall it is a clean place with information boards in Arabic and English, with toilets, first aid and restaurants. All kind of fresh fish is for sale at the various stalls, also some sepia, big shrimps and quite big crabs. What I didn't see were lobster, octopus, calamari and every kind of molluscs.

Oil changed all in Kuwait, but not the traditional fish market at the seaside in the north of Kuwait City. The market hall looks modern, clean and well organized, but the vibrant atmosphere is as usual. The sea area at the mouth of the Euphrates and Tigris rivers has always been rich in different kinds of fish, as is reflected in the stalls selling a huge variety of shellfish such as crabs and huge shrimps, as well as other sea creatures.
Friendly Kuwaiti vendors (not insistent on selling).

Here you can find a reasonable prices, which are fluctuating on catch and demand . Choice of barracudas, nuawibee, zubaidee , snapper, as well as other daily delivered by fisherman. In the same building you can find also vegetable and meat market. So your lunch will fit any pocket. If you lucky you can witness bulk trade near midday.

It’s not only The fish market, but a market for everything. Located at the seaside after Kuwait Towers. Just park your car and go inside from any gate. Fresh fishes and other seafoods. Simply buy your stuff, send it for cleaning and later to an adjacent restaurant to cook them the way you want.
Short visit is enough.

Went to the Fish Market when nearby and we actually enjoyed it seeing all the various types of fishes and the staff busy trying to sell them.
Yes it does smell but it was not that bad - glad we got to experience how other cultures and people buy fresh fish. Would recommend visiting even for a quick stop.

I visited this fish market to kill some downtime while staying at the Hilton Kuwait Resort in Fahaheel District back in September 2013 (while waiting to transit to Ireland). If I'd had more time to hire a cook and wasn't staying at a hotel where my meals were already taken care of, I'd have gladly made some purchases here. If you're either (A) a seafood lover, (B) a marine biology buff, or (C) all of the above like I am, you'll find the sheer variety of species on display to be quite fascinating, especially the cuttlefish and the cutlass fish.

Lots of fish and sea food available from the sea presented and sold here in public.Very nice to see such a big variety of many kinds of different fish and other sea food. However, smell is a little bit disturbing due to existing live conditions at the market.Good place to see.
