The Falcon Souq!

Souq Waqif was really fun. It has been nicely restored and has a feel that is more "authentic" than "Disney". DO NOT miss the Falcon Souq.

Wonderful atmosphere. It is large and clean. The buildings are beautiful. There are plenty of restaurants. We went during the evening and then back during the day. Felt very comfortable. Very few shop owners hassled us. Probably only 2. The rest were helpful and friendly. The Falcon Souk is adjoining.

Souq waqif is a must when visiting Doha. Nice restaurant and lots of shops "souq style". Some have really nice souvenirs / gifts - especially in the handicraft section. Stay away from typical tourist souvenir shops on the main road - there are better ones in the small roads behind!

Very big with small lanes, countless small shops with everything available at bargain prices from clothes, jewellery, shoes, perfumes, Arabic perfumes, vegetables, meat, chicken, gift shops, etc. All articles under one roof.

I spent a day working here and has a really nice time. The souk itself is not that old, built in the 20s and rebuilt to look old a few years ago. The police wander past on horseback and there are flags, street cafes and a really relaxed family atmosphere. It's very different to the glass and steel of the... More

Tourists, visitors or even Qatar residents should not miss this place. It's one of the places in Qatar where you get the feel of the old town/city/country. Its usually abuzz with people as the place is a combination of history and progress. It is also teemed with restaurants from Arabic palate, Asian or western. You may also enjoy shopping for... More

We walked to the souk after a visit to the MIA. And what a pleasant surprise it was. It was much bigger and varied than we expected. From the main entrance, there is a central artery that leads to a terrace of restaurants at the back of the souk. There are mostly food choices from the levant, but there was... More

It's a nice place to walk around with friends and family. Beautifully designed. Sit a cafe to smoke sheesha or have cup of tea or coffee. Some restaurants organise different cultural activities out side their restaurants. Shops selling souvenirs or traditional Qatari decor, clothes. There is also a spice market where you can buy different spices and dry fruits. You... More

This place is a "must see" if you want to know about the past and present culture and architecture of Qatar. It's not just your traditional market selling local clothes, jewelries, perfumes, spices, handicrafts and souvenirs (rare collections), it also have a fascinating activities all year round, have many restaurants, coffee shops and shisha lounges to choose (from cheap to...
