One of the most beautiful places I've ever seen in person. Amazing details, and impressive architecture. The further you go into the mosque, the more beautiful it gets. Women must wear appropriate attire. Abayas are available on site if you happen to forget your head covering. Arms and legs must be covered on women, and men can wear short sleeves,... More

The scale of the mosque is breathtaking and the attention to detail is startling, never thought I would spend minutes looking at inlaid mother of pearl in one of the 1080 columns that support the structure. A young, humorous male guide showed us much more than the building, he (gently) educated us on the Muslim religion and culture.

Just beautiful. Went there in the evening. Free entry. If required, special long dresses provided for males and females. Seems like a lot of work there still in progress. Worse visiting.

A wonderful piece of modern cultural architecture. Visits are free. We made use of the guided tour which was excellent. Guided tours are regular and well worth it last approx 45-60 minutes so check tour times before you go. Ladies need long sleeves, legs covered, and head scarf although appropriate abaya is available. Men need long trousers although again mens... More

We've just done the guided tour of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and it was well worth waiting for the guide rather than just walking round ourselves. I'd check before you go what time the tours are. The building is stunning but the guide explained what everything was and the reason for it being there. We really enjoyed it.

If you can spare an afternoon to see one of the landmarks this is it. Allow 45 minutes to one hour complementary tour at 5pm and enjoy the guided tour and witness the ever changing sky. The mosque is lit up with the purple hue at dusk against the colourful sky it's simply breathtaking.

The mosk is the most beautiful one in the entire world! You must go there, despite any religion beliefs. Extravagant and luxurious! The huge carpet that covers all the floor, is simply amazing!! You don't feel the heat, since it has air conditioner. It is difficult to describe such a precious place!! Overwhelming!

Visited with my 12 year old son at 430pm so that we could join the daily 5pm tour of the Mosque. The visit is a must for anyone visiting Abu Dhabi and the tour is most informative. Our tour guide Ali is excellent and we really enjoyed the tour with him. Try and visit in the late afternoon/ evening if... More
