- RStouristUnited Arab Emirates152 contributionsA hidden gemVisited this place for kayaking, excellent experience rowing through the mangroves. We had a very helpful guide - Floyd, who gave us a good understanding about mangroves and the ecological aspects of preserving mangroves. The area also offers a 2km boardwalk through through mangroves with nice sightseeing, this made us feel one with nature! The cafe has good seating and mixed indoor and outdoor options, we thoroughly enjoyed a hot chocolate after the cool evening boardwalk ! I would strongly recommend this for residents and tourists who want to do something outside the ordinary.Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 19 December 2023
- Ihar BeliauskiAbu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates503 contributionsPeaceful environmentMangroves Park provides a serene and peaceful environment, creating a perfect retreat from the city's hustle. The calmness of the mangrove trails offers a soothing experience for visitors seeking tranquility in nature. However, it's important to note that obtaining a taxi from the park can be challenging, presenting a potential inconvenience for those relying on public transportation. Despite this minor setback, the overall peaceful atmosphere of Mangroves Park makes it a worthwhile destination for those looking to unwind and connect with nature.Visited February 2023Travelled soloWritten 20 December 2023
- Lesley W335 contributionsWorth a visitWe visited here and enjoyed our time. There wasn't a huge amount to see apart from some fishes and crabs but it was a nice alternative from staying in the hotel. It was reasonable to enter and we got a taxi to and from it very easy too. The boardwalk is self explanatory and there were view points along the way where you could stop. When we went the waters appeared to be very low. We didn't see many birds whilst we were there. Supposedly there are lots and lots of different species.Visited December 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 16 January 2024

- MiniDubai, United Arab Emirates4 contributionsPleasant Walk in Nature's SplendourA morning in Abu Dhabi's Mangrove Park was amazing. The windy day, clean water and the occasional sight of birds made the walk pleasant. If you are the one for nature walks, the Jubail Mangrove Park would be an ideal experience for you. We recommend this for singles as well as families.Visited February 2024Travelled with familyWritten 19 February 2024
- Everywhere EscapesMiddle East2,413 contributionsEscape the city in to the sprawling mangrove forestsWhat a beautiful and tranquil place! Getting there was a bit of a challenge due to detours and road construction, and part of the way getting there was travel on a dirt road. Once there, ample free parking is available. Tickets for entrance without a guided tour are for AED 15 (very reasonable), and are readily available in the main building that houses a gift shop and has a coffee shop. What follows are sprawling boardwalks that merge and meander through the mangroves. We had gone in the late afternoon today, without checking the high tide map, and found many areas of the mangrove dry due to the low tide. For the latter part of our trip , the water started to fill ,and it made the whole mangrove forests look magical. It felt like one was in a whole new world. While we did not spot any gazelles, or turtles, and this is not the time for the migrating flamingos, we did spot many grey/blue herons, western reef-heron , red-waddle lapwings, white eared bulbuls, laughing doves, crabs, and fish. We need to revisit at high tide, and experience kayaking, and or the dragon-boat guided tour. It is a refreshing experience, away for the hustle of the city, and a lovely place for nature lovers, meandering through the mangrove forests that separate the sea and the shore.Visited March 2024Travelled with familyWritten 2 March 2024
- K LManama, Bahrain44 contributionsGreat! We took the 20 minute scenic tour, prebooked online, which was a great way for my elderly parents to see the whole thing. The boardwalk was also great (cheaper to buy tickets when you are there rather than online). There is a nice cafe and decent toilets too. The boardwalk offers shorter paths so the kids did that one while my husband and I did the full thing. We took an Uber there and arranged with a driver to pick us up - I'm glad we did as there were no Ubers available for pickup and we needed a larger vehicle for the six of us.Written 9 April 2024
- PeachesShireOxford, United Kingdom338 contributionsFantastic at sunset 🌅What an incredible place! We visited just before sunset on a Saturday and it was quiet and peaceful. The place is just beautiful with a well-maintained and safe walkway which was perfect for our toddler. The watch tower was great to get a 360 view of the mangroves. We saw lots of crabs on the branches of the mangroves. We also saw many different birds. It’s a lovely walk to do at sunset 🌅 but I’m sure it’s great any time of day. Would highly recommend a visit!Visited September 2024Travelled with familyWritten 24 September 2024

Its a very good place if you are a nature lover and want to see the nature closely without spending.Having a board walk surrounded greenery ,water, live aquatic life and pure clean air.
Have fun of walking, spending time with aquatic creatures & birds watching them.Enjoy the nature from height from the watch tower.
Kids enjoy with splashing water at jumping pond.
Winter and spring is the good time to visit in summer it will be more humid and hot,
Its easier to access from Yas Island side.
There are food & coffee trucks and loose beans bag to relax on green area too.
Access to this park is free.

Amazing place where you can stay very close to nature. Visit costs only 15 drhs, you can book it on website or buy on place.
You will spend nice 40-50 minutes to walk and see beautiful real mangrove with clear fantastic water, fish, crabs, birds.
Don't forget wear cap, long sleeves and put cream to your face. Also good if you take umbrella with you.
After hardly recommended to sit in cafe Crane, for sure is the best cappuccino there (22 drhs) and enjoy great view for mangrove park.
Important! Use a special info about high water and come in correct hours to see the best moments!
Specially thanks to reception guys which help us and call to taxi to take us to our hotel! Nice day!

We had a peaceful one hour walk around the mangroves, when suddenly at around 2.45pm loud, hip-hop music started blasting out of huge speakers right across the mangroves. We were completely incredulous. How could the management honestly believe that such an abomination is good for what should be a haven for wildlife? When I made inquiries, I was informed that this abuse to the ears is played every afternoon until sundown. If you like to be at one with nature and enjoy seeing wildlife in a natural setting, I would avoid visiting in the afternoons. We came away very disappointed.

It's back open, now is the time to go! Double check that you are going during high tide book online at their website and enjoy the sunset without many people being there right now, even on a Thursday sunset. Plenty of different length walkways for all levels of walkers. The birds are the highlight if you listen hard you can hear the many different types of birds singing. We did catch a heron flying and some others and sunset is brilliant especially if you make it to the tower. Clear water makes for fun fish spotting and the little crabs are a joy to spot.

I booked an electric Dragon Boat ride around the mangroves, as we felt that our 5 year old was too young to do kayaking. Our guide (Faisal, from Uganda) was really attentive and told us a lot about the wildlife/what we could potentially see and he was great with our son, helping him to get in and out safely, including him in conversation and getting him to spot things. He also told us about his little daughter back in Uganda, and his life before coming to the UAE. The boat was low on power for our return and we ended up getting back 20-25 minutes later than planned, but Faisal kept calm and steered the boat manually back to the base. We were also pleased to see that the company took safety seriously, ensuring that our son, ourselves and the driver/guide had appropriate life jackets. There was also a box of water, but we had our own. In hindsight, we should have taken the bottles when offered because when we tried to refill our own water bottles back at the information centre/cafe (which is newly built, with free wifi, toilets and helpful staff) we were told that we would need to buy water in a plastic bottle, which seemed to contrast greatly with the tour that we had just done where Faisal was explaining all about plastic pollution in the mangroves.
The activity included access to the boardwalk and we had an enjoyable walk around all of the area afterwards, which took around 90 minutes at a slow, child spotting everything pace. We were some of the only people there, so it was really special. However, we must have got lucky because immediately before and as we were leaving, large school groups of teenagers arrived which destroyed the tranquillity of the place.
The only issue I had was trying to book the activity in advance. I had been checking on the website for availability and worked out the slots are released around 1-2 weeks in advance, but it then just said "sold out/unavailable" for all of the time we were in Abu Dhabi. I contacted the Instagram account, and in a very convoluted way via multiple what's app numbers, I managed to book a boat. The website still said sold out/unavailable throughout, even when I was offered a choice of times during the week via the team. This really needs to be resolved, as I doubt many people would be as persistent as me!
We got a city regulated taxi from the city centre which was around 35 dirhams. The lady on the reception desk was happy to call for one on our return, which was helpful as they were much cheaper than Careem.

Unfortunately, due to a shortage of rangers we were unable to do the guided walk but we went late in the day and were able to walk the route ourselves, pretty much on our own, undisturbed by others. The lack of other people made it a peaceful walk with only the occasional other humans in earshot.
There are 3 loops around the boardwalk; 1km, 1.6km or 2km. It is all flat (except the stairs up to the top of the viewing platform) so it is an easy walk, whichever route you choose. Our pace was very relaxed and included a few pauses for photos and stops to take in the sights so we took about an hour to do the 2km, which we did in the lead up to sunset. We were just towards the end of the walk as it got dark and whilst there are night walks, I’m not sure it’s worth doing as I’m not sure you’d see much. As it was, we didn’t see much wildlife other than a few common birds and fish. We thought we may see a few more given it was dusk but that wasn’t the case. I’m sure a ranger would have pointed more out to us but that couldn’t happen.
We’d paid for a guided walk but got the total cost refunded to us due to the lack of rangers so our visit ended up being free. Even with a cost it’s worth a trip out to see the mangroves, experience the tranquility, and realise the importance of them to the ecosystem. It’s a well set up place with a cafe in the visitor centre. In a way it’s a shame a main road is in earshot to the place but that just highlights the juxtaposition of the constant development of Abu Dhabi resting alongside important wildlife habitats.

We live nearby and we spotted this place in early December and made a promise to return one day - to enjoy a walk and see birds and wildlife. So we were super excited to be there. Our excitement was short lived after a few hundred yards. The tide was out (visiting at 3pm) and all we could see was sand & dry mangroves. As we walked round there were viewing points but nothing to see at these places. The viewing tower looked good but was heaving with people so decided against going up due to social distancing. There were streams of shallow water with lots of little fish life going on - our highlight! Also we saw a bird of some sort and took a photo. We saw sign for salt collector - no sign of whatever that was? Literally there was nothing to see and the walk was short at 2km. We couldn’t wait to ‘turn right’ to head towards the exit. I suspect another time of the year the place would be full of wildlife. Sadly i do not think that I would be returning any time soon.

I am not sure, but maybe could be the timing (around 11-12 noon), that made us not enjoy the walk very much. While Jubail Mangrove Park is listed as one the best attractions in Abu Dhabi, we found it a bit underwhelming. There weren’t any wildlife, as advertised, during our visit.
The tower is my favorite part of the walk way where you can have a glimpse of the mangrove. Also, I think that high tide would be much better timing to appreciate the place.
This pandemic, online booking is required. It is quite pricey though at 30 dhs for a full day visit. I heard that it was free before the pandemic (not sirr though)

The pluses: we just did the route on foot on the pontoon which crosses the mangrove and it is clean, well maintained and secure (presence of cameras all along); the water is of magnificent color; one of the rare natural areas in Abu Dhabi; to get back to the city center, a taxi was waiting so it was perfect
The minuses: just behind the park is a large area of building construction with cranes etc., it was noisy and unaesthetic; we only saw 1 fish and 2 birds
It's probably worth trying one of the many activities the park offers, such as renting a kayak.
Please note: you must reserve entry (inexpensive) in advance on their website
