Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We saw this park promoted on Trip Advisor and thought we would wander along for a look. Very pleased we did as it's very pretty and the views were wonderful. It was a bit of a climb up to it but well worth while. The small chapel was closed but looked good. There were a number of plaques around the entrance remembering locals. The tiled archways framed the city views and gave it a real point of difference. Great place to rest for a while with a gook book or just to catch your breath.

The Montículo is one of the best kept secret places in La Paz, a small hill with great views over the Illimani and the Muela del Diablo. This is a very traditional park, as old as the 1776 stone gate at the entrance. Very high and old trees create a peaceful atmosphere for those in search of a quiet place. Don't miss the poems by Portocarrero carved on stones, and the magnificent sculpture at the central fountain. On Saturdays, at the small church in the corner of the park, couples get married and sometimes concerts are organised. Nearby, descending from the Montículo down to Plaza España, is the section dedicated by painter Solón Romero to the victims of human rights violations, those that were disappeared and killed under governments of military rule.

Adjoining the Plaza Espana, the Monticulo gives amazing views over the city and is also a nice spot to rest. The yellow line cable car passes overhead.

I enjoyed that park very much during my stay! close to everything! the view on the city and the mountains around was beautiful! Also many locals were chilling around and gave it an authentic feel!

It's a very nice place to take a walk and see the view of La Paz and take photos. There is a little cathedral where we met local weddings and some local people and chatted with them. It's interesting to see the Bolivian style wedding.

It’s a nice place to get a full view of the city, but it’s not very secure at nights, you shouldn’t visit it by your own when it’s dark.

The Monticulo is great because at located just a few blocks in from the bohemian Sopocachi neighborhood and offers great views without the city traffic noise. It can be easily accessed from the Yellow Teleferico Sopocachi stopped, at about 8 blocks away, or from Plaza España 4 blocks away, or Plaza Avaroa 7 blocks away. If you want to picnic though, bring a blanket or cloth since it isn't the cleanest.

This is practically the only green area of the city. It is nice looking and it has a little church, active with local weddings. Pretty cute. Nothing to do there though. To get to a cafe we had to walk about 5 blocks.

Nice park with an amazing view of La Paz and Illimani. On clear days the sunsets cast beautiful colors against the snowcapped peaks. Benches are generally filled with young amorous couples and abuelos keeping watch.

A friend took me there almost by accident, and I was so glad they did. It provides great views from the western side of La Paz into its downtown core. the entrance archway, fountain, and other historic pieces are beautiful.
This is only a small park, but (as we all know) size is not important! it's shady paths are the ideal haven for the cities courting couples, and provide a cool haven to just slow down a little before descending back into the cauldron of activity that lies below you.
