Also called the Palacio Quemada or Burnt Palace as it has been set on fire a number of times during insurrections. Not sure if the President still works from here as he has a new skyscraper palace right behind but there are colorful Presidential guards...More

Situated on one full side of the main square is this splendid palace. Hard to see all at once. Sit don on the main square and soak up the vista and energy

We visited the square with a local guide who spent an hour telling us all about the history or Bolivia including the recent political issues. It was really interesting and the architecture was spectacular

If you are there at the changing of the guard, it can be a highlight, but otherwise, it's a nice red building with white trim and many windows. The square is usually busy with locals and tourists and full of pigeons. Not really that impressive...More

Some reviewers are confusing Bolivia's Legislature with the Presidential Palace. The Presidential Palace is on the same side of Plaza Murillo (adjacent to) the Tomb of Andres de Santa Cruz, and the Cathedral. Like the tomb, it is guarded by soldiers in red cermonial uniforms....More

when viewed from plaza murillo. Pics were marred by overhead construction cranes. learned about the reverse clock - how sundials work in southern hemisphere so president ordered to set apart from all other nations.
