I climbed Huayna Potosi with this company in 2019- I still can't believe they managed to get me above 6000m for the first time! Thank you to the whole team- I felt very much looked after. I'm nervous on the ice and felt really at ease with the calm, easy to follow instruction from our guide Jose.
Being in lockdown has been a great chance for me and my husband to look through our travel experiences and comment on the very best. I hope you guys are all safe and ok- hopefully we can come climbing again in the future!
Thank you again!

We recently went on a 5 day expedition with 16 student with Bolivian Mountains to the Condorori Glacer. Jon and Miriam helped us organise everything from airport transfer to the trek itself. They were very helpful and knowledgable and professional. The trek was very well organised and our guides Felix and his brother Roberto were fantastic; helping the students, giving clear information about the trek and being very flexible as to the routes. The pace was very well matched to the ability of the group and they stopped at great places for drinks, snack and lunches. The horse support team were also great, very happy and chatty (in Spanish/Quechuan), they helped to pack up and setup camp every day. We would definitely recommend a tour with this company.

We just came back from a great trip that Bolivian mountains and specifically Jon Cassidy helped organize from start to finish. Everything went flawlessly and in the end we all summitted Huayna potosi! We hope to get back to Bolivia next year and of course will use Bolivian mountains again. Thank you guys!

Bolivian Mountains is amazing and we absolutely recommend it. Ever since we stared planning our trip, Jon was super helpful and prompt in responding our emails and enquiries. Once in La Paz, Miriam and Hugo helped us get all the gear necessary for the climb since we were missing a few things. Super organized and responsible agency. I am gluten intolerant and they were so nice in accommodating gluten free meals for me. Food was great and our guide was AWESOME. Very patient and strong in the mountains. It was my first experience climbing and because of my experience with Bolivian Mountains I'm looking forward for my next climb!

I have traveled around the world and experienced a wide variety of adventures. As a single young woman I wanted the opportunity and freedom to trek off the beaten path and feel safe doing so. Bolivian Mountains was an an exceptionally professional and exciting team to go with!! They were very well organized and without batting an eye, they customized the little unexpected things to match my needs. There are a lot of unpredictable circumstances that could potentially present themselves when traveling on a new adventure like this, but this was seamless. The whole time, I felt like I was in very good hands and Jon and his team were great fun, part of the thrill and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat! I highly recommend these guys for large groups or if you're on your own, they really made my trip feel special, as if I had been the only one to ever experience it!
5 stars all the way.

The only reason I'm giving five stars is because six stars wasn't an option. And I'm serious about this! I had booked a climbing trip with another company and just a few weeks before the climbing the company backed out of doing the climbs. In a scramble I contacted Bolivian Mountains and Jon came through big time! He arranged a three-mountain climb that met and beat my expectations. We did Pequeno Alpamayo, Jancohuma, and capped it off with Illampu. Another climber that decided to join for the three mountains and I warmly greeted at the airport and taken to the hotel they had booked for me, which was ideally located, clean, and comfortable. The office staff were very helpful and even tailored the food for the climbs to what I liked to eat. The guides that Jon arranged were top notch, very professional, safety orientated, and extremely personable. On Jancohuma one of the guides pulled off a spectacular move to get us over a crevasse that I'm guessing would have stopped many guides and forced them to turn around. On Illampu the team that attempted two days before us were turned back because their guides' lack of experience. We summited with ease. I really hope to get back down and do some more climbing with them again!

I climbed Pequeno Alpamayo (5440m) and Illimani (6460m) with Bolivian Mountains in September 2015. I met Jon and my guide José before my climb and they talked me through the route. We also sorted out our kit. The equipment standard was very good, not brand new, but very good.
I had a private tour because it was just coming to the end of the season. My guide José could not do enough for me to make the trip what it was. He smiled and joked all the way up the mountain and all the way down. He was safe, calm, professional and great fun.
The food was cooked by Habidio who was also fantastic. Very tasty food, plenty of it and very accomadating. He also smiled and joked the entire time.
I would recommend bolivian mountains for an amazing all round experience.
Thanks for getting me to the top of both.

I haven't had a trip like this before or since, truly amazing. A group of friends with no ice climbing experience managed to scale a 6,542m mountain. We camped out under the stars, jumped crevasses, walked through beautiful scenery and witnessed spectacular views from the very top of two mountains.
The trip was extremely well organised, we felt safe and well looked after by Jon and his local Bolivian team who couldn't have been nicer or done enough for us.

I went climbing with Bolivian Mountains as they seem to be the most established and qualified. I did my research as had a really bad experience in Nepal! Their guides have qualifications form the International Federation of Mountain Guide Associations (IFMGA) which gave me confidence.
Originally I planned on doing a day of ice climbing but I loved it, so I decided to change my plans and have a crack at a peak. I discussed with the guides when we got back to La Paz what was possible and when I could do it. I joined a small group for three days that were climbing to the top of HUAYNA POTOSI. A mere 6,088 mtrs! The guides were incredible spoke good English which was good as at times I needed motivation. I doubt I would of got to the top without them. The food, kit and camps were all excellent.
I was very impressed with Bolivian Mountains and would highly recommend them to anyone thinking about climbing in Bolivia.

Great day out for beginners, or for anyone looking to enjoy a bit of ice climbing without taking on a full summit climb. Right balance of enjoyment and adventure, all kit provided, felt very hardcore with my ice axes! Recommended
