Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

There are fruit and vegetable stalls here as well as groceries stores and other shops to buy daily necessities. Most space is taken by a food court inside a hall. Many small tables and chairs close to kitchen outlets where you can observe your food being prepared.

There are many different options to choose from Colombia's varied cuisines. Prices start at 8000 pesos for a simple 'menu del dia'. Often boards mention the different meal options, but not the prices. You have to ask before you order. Not always easy for foreigners with limited knowledge of Spanish.

Not recommended during peak hours between 12 o'clock noon and 1:30PM as usually there are very many locals working in nearby offices having lunch and staff is usually more stressed. I went there mostly between 2 and 3PM, when the place is more relaxed and friendly staff has more time to socialize.

The market usually closes at 4PM

We tried two dishes:
- the "best Ajiaco in town": nice but not delicious, just another regional soup.
- Ceviche Atomico: didn't like it at all. Just fish cubes, shrimps, avocado and mango with ketchup and olive oil on top

To be honest the price/benefit of the food is not worth it. There are places that have better service and customer service. The food is acceptable but nothing special. If you plan to go on a weekend or holiday, be prepared for crowds and wait a long time to find a table and be served. Add to that the fact that the prices of the place are not cheap at all. You can find better places, with better service, less crowded at better prices. Perhaps if you are going to try a typical dish that is difficult to find, it is a good option, but in that case, I would think that it is easier during the week.

Is not a market, It's a fod court with local food. For those who wish to get to know the food from the pacific region of Colombia, this is the place to be. Tolú is considered to be one of the best street food restaurants in Bogotá. Ajiaco at Tolú it's a must.

Local food prepared and served in the traditional way. A place that resembles the city foundation and roots. Ajiaco soup is a must!

When visiting a foreign country I always visit three places: the cemetery, the churches, and the public market. Normally that will give a true pulse of the place. Today we went for lunch at “Plaza de Mercado La Perceverancia. The place is a combination of a very active produce market catering to the community and the traditional food fare and a kaleidoscopic array of small eating venues all competing for your business. If you are on a diet don’t go because the sights and aromas of the traditional food will break the strongest will. It is not a fancy place but when you see firefighters, police, and army members eating and enjoying themselves you know the place is safe and you are up for good eats. Like I said this is a market that caters to the community and an ocasional tourist. Food portions are abundant and you almost always have to share your table with a complete stranger; your chance to make new friends. Prices are reasonable and the portions abundant. Ah, for dessert you must go to “La Puloy” for a dizzying array of traditional desserts and my all time favorite “Merengón,” a Pavlova on steroids; decadent sinful and big. What’s not to love? All taxi drivers in Bogota know the place and are a good source for recommendations. Overall I had a rhapsodic lunch and most probably will go again.

I discovered this plaza in a food tour and then went back to have lunch and there was a lot of different options and a variety of typical food.

The place is very neglected. I expected way more. There is not variety and good offer of fruits and vegetables. There are only a couple of restaurants to have breakfast.

restaurant "La cucharita" waiting for a lunch 10/10 for the price, we ordered a cuchuco (soup) which had raw ingredients, my mother ordered a fried fish, a bocachico which she realized was decomposing when it was was going to eat a part of the tail, we told the waitress what happened and she answered with 3 stones in her hand that because she didn't realize it before (one has to smell and taste all the fish in small parts to know and tell the time), we ask for the bill, she removes the plate and takes it to the stall where we notice how she insults us and denies that the fish is damaged, telling us that it smells like fish. A vulgar lady with terrible attention when we told her that because she insulted us the only thing she did was hide, turn red and pretend that it wasn't with her, at no time were we rude, terrible service, expensive and with raw and decomposing food.
I do not recommend it, contamination and lack of hygiene
