Güejar is an up and coming destination in Colombia. Located just 5 hours away from Bogotá by car, Mesetas Is a small town that has seen a huge transformation after the peace agreement. Surrounding the town, there is a vast and rich natural setting with waterfalls, rivers and mountains. Just 5 years back, it was imposible to visit. This trip with Impulse exceeded my expectations. Everything was carefully planned and the accommodated every traveler's needs. Their local operation was spotless. They work with the local community they have super high standards of sustainability. I highly recommend this trip for travelers who want to go beyond the main Colombia route and who want to experience Colombia's lush nature that has been kept hidden for so many years.

Had a great time! Originally I was skeptical about the price of the trip but once you realize you are getting a private car it is well worth it! Once there you are greeted with friendly and knowledgeable people, the staff at Hacienda Coloma was amazing and they teach you not only how they process coffee but also why they do it that way! When setting up the tour as for Emilio, thank me later

Breaking borders tour is a lifetime experience. Through this tour we not only had the feeling to make a difference by encouraging young men to succeed on getting out of their gang’s life. We also broke our own judgments about street youth and felt much more compassionate and understanding. This tour allows to witness the Colombian transformation and is a great proof of how life can turn into a better world. Thanks for the opportunity to become a social and responsible tourist it was eye opening. Thanks Impulse team, Andres, Mr Pumpkin and the kids for showing us your vision and already amazing steps made. This is full of hope and so bold. Gracias!

Since the peace agreement in Colombia was signed I’ve been wondering how the people that made part of the guerrillas would transition to civilian life. A friend of mine told me about this particular community and mentioned that it was possible to go there and experience the transition in first-hand. I ended up booking this trip through Impulse Travel. The entire trip was a success and I truly recommend it. First, every single detail was covered by Impulse (air tickets, lodging, meals, activities) so I didn’t have to worry about the logistics. I personally like to be spontaneous during my trips but in this case, in which there is no much information available, I liked having some type of expert working on the logistics. Second, and probably the most important part, the trip opened my eyes completely. I had the opportunity to live, even for few days, what this community is going through during the transition process. I learned about the different projects that they have in order to be sustainable as a community that follows the law. All of them are pretty interesting but probably the one that gets the most attention is the white water rafting. In fact, the instructors, which are former members of the FARC and civilians that joined the community, formed a team that represented Colombia during the past World Rafting Championships in Australia (2019). Additionally, they organized the first national championship in Colombia which was a complete success.

Rafting for peace was an amazing experience, allowing us to witness first-hand the incredible transformation of former guerrilla members into rafting instructors, and how the Colombian peace process impacts real people, and the way they see the future of themselves, their families and their country.
