Learn about the history of Colombia's independence
Jul 2018 • Solo
If you have 30 minutes to spare and want to learn more about the independence movement in Colombia, visit this nice little museum. The story of "El Florero de Llorente" is fascinating. You will need to pay 4,000 pesos in cash to enter.

Colonial house and garden in city centre
Jan 2018 • Solo
Late 16th century colonial house right on the corner of Plaza de Bolívar where the beginnings of Colombian independence from Spanish rule began. Exhibition is largely in Spanish although apparently there are English guided tours. Lovely house and front courtyard. Plain garden at rear with trees and hammocks.

Interesting, beautiful grounds, but primarily presented in Spanish
Aug 2016 • Friends
I tried numerous times to visit Museo Del 20 De Julio and was finally successful. They seemed to always be closed. It's a nice little museum and very inexpensive to visit (under $3.00), but unless you read Spanish there isn't much you'll understand (except that it's centered around Colombias independence - July 20, 1810). The museum property is beautiful though, and it's very central since it's across from Plaza Bolivar. If you have an extra 45 min, and they are open...stop by!

Great history museum
Dec 2015 • Couples
Situated in a beautiful old colonial house, this is a great history museum that tells you so much about the history of Colombia and Bogotá. The location is awesome since it is located next or almost on plaza Bolivar.

Same place as Museo de la Independencia Casa del Florero

This is the same place as the Museo de la Independencia Casa del Florero (which has about three times more reviews). You may want to read the reviews there to find out about this place.

Cute little museum
We went to visit this museum. The staff is very friendly. The admission is 3,000 COP or about $1.25. They asked if we were seniors & gave us free entry. The museum tells the story of Columbia's independence. There are about 10% of the signage in English. Mostly in Spanish. If you don't read Spanish you get much less out of the visit. Worth about an hour of your time. I would have given it a 4 or 5 star rating if there was more English. We tried asking questions of the staff but very little English was spoken.
