It's a nice neighbourhood were old and new meet. It shows a lot of Bogota culture. A lot of poor people used to come downhill and crime rate was high. Nowadays there's a lot of police and it is much safer. Still we got robbed, so beware, specially in crowded places like Plaza del Chorro. Colombian citizens are very friendly... More

La Candelaria disappointed. The Supreme Court Building was impressive, but otherwise not worth the cab fare. It seemed to be much hype about nothing, save pigeons and incessant beggars.

well after all the good reviews, i can not said the same... Old town is an important place to know the history of the Colombia´s capital, better to spend a full day, take a typical food, but not the Stay there... you feel unsafe all the time, mad faces every where and is pack of backpackers... Unclean place and noisy... More

Charming old streets and buildings of the first settlement in Bogota from 1535. We really enjoyed this old city and walking through it.

every street in the La Candelaria is special. This colorful neighborhood offers a great place for walking around, finding hidden gems of restaurants and cafes, with a very colonial feel.

Charming neighborhood of Bogota, probably one of the most beatiful because it is full of life, shops and restaurants. It is always crowded and my only suggestion is to gard your belongings.

Easily combined with a visit to Mount Monserrate (same area of Bogota), this is Bogota's nicest part. Restaurants, museums, shopping streets and historic buildings - you have it all here. Parking and driving in the narrow streets can be a challenge. Plan to spend at least one afternoon, or more.

A very bohemian neighborhood where you will find lots of local craft and chic stores (like hipster). Small streets and very old buildings with alternative people drinking or smoking (*). I love the local craft stores, they have beautiful design proposals. There is a small Square, the oldest in the neighborhood with many bars and people chilling outside singing or... More

Good to get a comfy pair of shoes and start walking, you can spend all day here in this area going from one historical site to another. The area around this has been preserved so all buildings have a certain look from the old days. There are a couple of nice parks and lots of restaurants in the neighborhood. Good... More
