Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Colpatria Tower is the 48-story skyscraper, which offers complete views of the city and part of the savannah. It is the second tallest tower in Bogotá. Its design began in 1973 and was completed in 1978. It has a spectacular view and although it looks like a simple plan in reality, seeing the grandeur of the city from this skyscraper will make you vibrate.
It is located on Carrera 7 No. 24-89 and you can get there in the company of Special Car, the best special transportation option.

Currently one of the tallest buildings in Colombia , Torre Colpatria offers a very nice view of the city for $3000 COP ( around $1.50) , but is not very well organized - you have to go through a floor full of offices and basically find your way to the rooftop. For a better view I recommend going to Monserrate.

The views from the top of the tower are really amazing, and you can walk around the entire 360 degrees. They are slightly spoiled by the rather tightly-spaced fence bars, but it's still pretty cool.
I arrived about 18:10 on a Friday - the tower only opens at 18:00 - and the queue was already pretty long, it took me the best part of an hour to be admitted. It is definitely worth it though; however, you might be advised to turn up before the official opening time so as to get nearer the front of the queue. On the other hand, maybe you don't want to go up too early so you can see the city after dark - your call! You appear to be allowed to stay up there as long as you like, so if you're both early and patient you could stay up there from 6pm right through til closing at 9pm.
Make sure you take identification with you - security is very tight and they will also take one of your fingerprints as the security gates are fingerprint-operated. I wasn't warned about the need for ID but I had a miniature laminated colour photocopy of my passport on me and they accepted that. You might get away with any kind of copy of your passport, but it would be safest to take the original with you.
Quite possibly the single best attraction I visited in Bogota.

Still today Today Torre Colpatria is the highest building in Bogota. You can go there all days of the week. For only $7.500 Colombian pesos, you can have the best view of the city. You go in an elevator for 46 levels after that you need to walk to stairs, so is not adequate for a person with limitations to walking. In floor 48 is cold so you need a jacket. No one explains to you about the city so is only for take pictures and have a great view, after that, you can visit Mambo or the Planetario that are two blocks away.

You get a 360-degree view of Bogota from here. I recommend going here in the evening, as the city looks beautiful at night, and also Colpatria gets very crowded during late evening time (8 pm onwards).

The Torre Colpatria building is very impressive. It is located across from the planetarium on Cra.7. The entrance for the observation deck is not marked but is between the main building and another on the south side. There are no signs indicating this but you will see the security checkpoint inside the glass. Wait by the door with the metal detector and eventually the guards will let you in.
The Elevator will take you to the 46th floor, then you have to climb 2 more stories in a stairwell to reach the observation deck.
The cost on a Sunday afternoon in July 2017 was $7.000 COP. That's about $2.25USD. Money well spent on this cool location.

The Colpatria tower is the second tallest skyscraper of Bogota, with has 50 floors and stands 180 meters high providing a 360-degree view over the city. It is also very charming at night. This attraction is absolutely recommended in Bogota!

Good to visit on a Sunday with the flea market nearby. Great views from the top and there is a good public toilet too!

tallest building in Colombia. Nothing to see. There are tall buildings everywhere in the world and the view in this one is really not exciting.
