Situated in the ancient district that takes it's name from it, this church is an excellent example of Hispano-American religious art, in the building and the images inside. Worth the while!

If you want to see where Candelaria gets its name, you must visit this church. Look for the Madonna holding the baby Jesus in one hand, and the candle in the other.

The beginning of the colonization of Colombia can be learned as you walk the streets of Candelaria. The impressive effort to establish their religion in the New World can be appreciated inside this church!

This church is not to miss. It is right opposite the Botero Museum Complex (which is a must-see in Bogotá anyway). The baroque church from 1686 is beautifully decorated and easy to visit.

It´s a very nice colonial church, very well preserved, in the historic center of Bogotá. Not always open but you should try!

This is a church that you would only visit if you were in the area - like if you went to the Botero museum. It has a yellow plain exterior and inside, at least to me the painted roof was very interesting. The church would...More

Always a peaceful refuge after shopping or museum hopping! Run by the Augustinian fathers, the side chapels are moving. High Altar is inspiring. Enjoy a moment with the Holy One there!

You can recognize this church by the yellow exterior. It is more ornate and splendid than the Cathedral on Bolivar square. Both should be visited.

The yellow edifice of this church makes it stand out in the city as almost all the other churches are brick, stone or white washed. Inside there are a lot of gold side altars as well as the main gold altar and surround that really...More

It's one of the best churches to see in la Candelaria and it is also in a central spot so you don't have to walk so much to see it.
