Our driver took us on a tour of the capital during our visit and we passed this landmark. It's nothing special but it's one of Guyana's tourist attractions.

Interesting lighthouse surrounded by buildings in the city. I didn't go in, but it was interesting from the outside, as much for its location as anything.

Still very neat to see an older landmark but this lighthouse is locked up and only able to be seen from the road. The lighthouse is blocked from the ocean by the nearby Marriott and a light has been mounted on the hotel.

Can't go inside and a sketchy neighborhood. It's an interesting look back into Guyana's history but much more could be done to make it worth a trip.

This is nice to visit but now the Marriott hotel blocks the northside Atlantic Ocean view which is sad as that was the money shot view

There are so many epic and captivating moments of this historic monument!!! Besides the winding height to climb, the "WOW" view of the city, the fact that it is not modernized - is the best part!!!! Be ready to climb excessive steps in a tight...More

When I saw it in 2010 you could just see it from the bottom outside. You just passed by.
