A stroll through the riverside Boulevard in Paramaribo brings you across colonial buildings, some local food stands, the Independence square, the Presidential building. If you walk a bit further you'll see the Fort Zeelandia (museum), the Garden of Palms (Palmentuin) and the popular restaurants and hotels.

This place along the Suriname river is a perfect place to relax and watch the locals relax (also in the evening). You can also have a little bit to eat or drink over here. And along the street are some beautiful wooden old buildings. We sat a few hours over here on a saturday evening and there were a lot... More

This is a great place to go with friends to just sit and relax. Enjoy the view of the Suriname-river. You can als find good food for a decent price :) Would certainly recommend going here if you just want to sit back and relax.

Too hot for the morning. in the night, beggars and thief's you can't recognize. Do not visit after 00.00 hours. A must visit, but don't carry too much money or ornaments to make people think you are wealthy. I don't know about the food. Seems not so healthy.

A lot of historical buildings of the colonial and slavery time. On 1 side you have hotels, resorts and bars and at the other side u like a small market thing. However this is for me not childfriendly and at night a lot of man are there.

Rated as one of the top attractions of Paramaribo, we didn't really want to miss it. Waterkant is in an excellent location where one side are historical & prominent buildings and other side the vast expanse of river. We walked around and had a coffee by one of the stalls. Can easily spend an hour or so there.

I came to this spot many times since I was a child, it's a very relaxing spot, great views and very socially relaxing. I am concerned about the night scene it seems a bit dangerous late at night. But overall it's very nice. The place seems for most part clean. The vendors are cool and very helpful, But the stalls... More

Walking the streets of Paramaribo, beyond the restored riverwalk, is an awesome experience! The Dutch left there imprint everywhere!! Peculiar rooftops and handrails. Take a look at a few!!
