For $15 dollars you get there from the port, including bus and boat transfer to island. But then, renting two chairs will cost $40. A total rip off. Just rent the snorkel equipment ($10 per person for one hour) from the rude French guy who operates it, but do not attempt to sit on the beach chairs. Simply, spend 2... More

There were two thngs on this island that were amzing. First was the snorkelling course. This is just of the beach and marked by buouys you can swim to. Snorkelling gear is avaialble for hire and the fish and coral you see is amazing. The second part is the bird viewwing platform at the "non tourist" end of the island.... More

I took the glass-bottom boat from Anse Vata beach across to the island. We stopped once on the way to see the coral and again to view the reef fish. It cost XPF1000 for the return trip. The island is small, with a bar/café and covered area, which was necessary because it rained heavily while I was there. I believe... More

Took the water taxi service over for the day. There's a charge to use the sunbeds that cover just about the beach area on the island but no-one seemed to care if you put your twel on the ground. Water isn't as clear as other places we've snorkelled & coral not at all colourful, but it's still a good day... More

A short trip from the beach to Ile aux Canard. The snorkelling is fantastic and not too far off shore. Be warned though!! Buy or take with you some beach slip on slippers, the type that wont come off in the water - the rubber type. Or maybe a pair of diving boots. Making it down to the waters edge... More

We have been cruising on Royal Caribbean Voyager of the seas and decided to do the Duck Island tour booked via the ship for this trip to Noumea. The last 2x trips we did Amedee Island which was great. We were taken aboard the Zodiac boats across for the 15 minute ride which was fantastic the island had quite a... More

After a week in NC, this was the absolute highlight and totally unexpected. 5 minutes from Ansa Vata by water taxi, a luxyury resort awaits. Double Croque Monsieur ordered at the bar was the most delicious meal we had in NC. Totally a luxury experience and well worth a visit just to lay on the loungers, order from the bar,... More

Got the water taxi across from Le Meridien. Huge delay in them picking us up (said they were 10 minutes away 35 minutes later we were still chasing them up). Good short trip, but wouldn't stay for longer than 1-2 hours. Great snorkelling. Sun beds are over priced. Good short trip if you're getting bored on the main island however... More

We took the Water taxi from AnseVata (1200f) and arrived mid morning and spent 3 hours on the Island. We took our own snorkelling gear and food and water. We hired loungers 1500f each And umbrella. The sun was really intense and there is little shade. I am a nervous snorkeller but swam out further than I have ever done... More
