Stopped here with a cruise ship. Not much to do near the ship terminal, so went on a hop-on-hop-off bus for the day around town. Stopped at anse vata and was not overly excited. It was ok, but if you want the best beach, head to isle of pines.

At high tide this beach virtually disappears. there is a strip of grass and trees beside the beach but I headed to Baie des Citrons and found another disappearing beach. Wind can bake the water rough at Anse Vata Beach. At low tide both beaches are quite nice but Baie des Cirons is more sheltered from the wind and theefore... More

This palm-lined beach runs the length of the shoreline in Anse Vata. It is a narrow stretch of grass along the lagoon where locals and tourists relax, swim, and play in an uncrowded environment. Families with children enjoying picnics, teenagers showing off for each other to gain the attention of the pretty girls and boys, older couples sitting on benches,... More

nice beach but close quarters with others. Looks like a great place to go for a swim but probably not the best for snorkelling.

Beautiful any time of the day, safe, gentle swimming, plenty of grassy banks and seating to make this the place to spend an hour of a day

We took the bus to anse vata for a morning swim. There were hardly any people there which was nice. They had kayaks and paddle boards for hire which we watched some people take them all the way to the island. We just wanted a relaxing dip and a bit of snorkeling. Although the snorkeling wasn't so great. There were... More

This lovely beach is great for walking. It is quite long with good sand. Unfortunately, at high tide the beach essentially disappears. There are numerous shops and restaurants lining the road across from the beach. Many are of good quality.

The sandy beach is very narrow but goes on for a very long stretch. Between the sand and the footpath is a treed grassy area which provides shade. The water is not as clear as I had expected. In the afternoon I found it interesting to watch the locals to play numerous parties of boule.

We stayed in a hotel situated on this beach. Very busy on cruise day. Be careful of broken glass. Water beautiful and warm.
