Anse Vata Beach fronts onto a lagoon so you don't get large waves coming in. However because of the almost constant winds it is very popular for wind surfing and similar sports. We were content to just walk up and down the paved footpaths that...More

Stopped here quickly on a sightseeing tour for P&O cruises. Amazing beaches with beautiful tropical feel. Lots of gorgeous resorts around to stay at. Will definitely be coming back to stay longer next time and relax on the ebathiful beaches.

Anse Vata is a great place for hanging out in cafes or restaurants, and the esplanade is nice for walking or jogging, but there is literally no beach at high tide, except for a bit at the western end. Maybe IRS a casualty of sea...More

Great place in Nouméa to chill, enjoy the blue sea and eat some good food. It's laid back and not pretentious. You can see all kind of people. Sun bath during the day and party during the night. Great place to spend sometime.

Very pleasant to walk along and has great views. Water is crystal clear. With lots of little cafes across the road it's a very enjoyable place to be.

Smimming, wind surfing, snorkeling, walking and a game of boche. There is a good selection of restaurants, bars, cafes and shopping along this beach. As with any place in the world that you visit, it does pay to learn the basics of the local language,...More

This beach is lovely. Swimming is good and there is so much water activity for hire during the day. The evening sun sets are just amazing. You will take too many photos if you are there. After dinner stroll along the beach is just as...More

The whole area was very clean and well maintained and the beach itself was alright but in my opinion nothing out of the ordinary. There were quite a few people enjoying the water activities and it was an easy place to relax. Shops and cafes...More

Awesome little beach, can stand up about 40m out at low tide, no waves just a relaxing area and a pontoon a little ways out that you have to fight the locals for, great fun.

Hi there, How often do water taxis to Duck Island (or other islands) leave from from Anse Vata? Where can I find the time table as I haven't been having much luck from Google. Cheers

This was a port our cruise ship stopped at so the terminal had all the information we needed. Unfortunately we didn't keep any of it.
Are there toilets at Anse Vata that are accessible for a person in a wheelchair?

Yes all of the options as per answers given by other posters but also just request the beach front shops, they are kind enough to give you the keys.
Hi I certainly will visit this island when in Noumea but I'd like to know how long to spend on the island to see it properly. I am visiting a relative but won't be returning and want to 'do it well' My cousin says 3 weeks. Any other advice. I want to see it all but don't tend to sit around relaxing much.

3 weeks should be fine, but bring lots of money it's very expensive. I understand you may be able to rent campers on the island. that's what I would look into next time.
