Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very easy to find in down town Noumea. Not a lot to see in the town but you have to go there. Noumea is disappointing- not really French ambience with cafes so venture in to chocolate shop and you are transformed.

This little place has sooo much to choose from! Chocolates, tea and lollies. The lady serving spoke excellent English and was generous with free chocolate samples. Highly recommend.

We have received a chocolate box from friends we have received to dinner. It is funny, but we did not find any chocolate piece that was not tasty.
This chocolate shop does not use Palm oil or any palm product, and sells fantastic Milk chocolate, dark chocolate, white chocolate, praliné stuffing (crushed hazelnut with sugar), almond, nougatine (crusty sweet almond), truffes (chocolate roc stuffed with tender buttery chocolate)....you name it!
He has also a variety of chocolate pieces stuffed with alcool.
One shop is just facing the Mobil petrol station down town facing the Port of Nouméa (where P&O and other cruise company ships stop), and another one is at the Lemon Bay (Baie des Citrons), in the Mirage center.
Sometimes the owner organises a workshop (in the shop itself) to explain the process of collecting cocoa and cocoa butter, and the preparation of the chocolate in their premisses.
I never attended, since I have no time to.
The price of the kilo is around 4500 CFP, no matter what the chocolate type is (except for truffes and another type, which I do not remember anymore). This is the price of chocolate in Noumea.

Friendly attentive staff add to the joy of swanning around and sampling all the goodies at this beautiful chocolate store. Shame the weather so warm when I visited, as the chocolate I purchased didn’t even make it home and had to be saved by stomach :)
Amazing chocolate!

The chocolate just melts in your mouth in a way that only good quality chocolate can. It was a bit of a gamble just buying stuff and putting it on the credit card without checking the exchange rate first but I got 2 lots of tea, 1 bag of mixed fish shaped chocs and 1 chocolate cat (about easter bunny size) and it came to $60 AUD.

We have been to Noumea several times on cruises and just love this shop. The staff are so helpful and speak English. You can buy boxes of chocolates that are already made up or you can choose your own assortment. They sell the best teas ever! The Kusmi tea range is superb with spearmint green tea just beautiful. Do take the time to visit here and indulge!

There's not always a lot to do in downtown Noumea, which often looks a bit tired, but this little chocolatier is well worth a visit. There is a large range of chocolates [dark and milk] with a wide variety of centres. These can be purchased singly or in packaged quantities. Travel friendly packaging is provided. Other larger moulded chocolate confectionary pieces are also available.
In keeping with "fine things", the shop also has a good range of quality flavoured tea.
Calling in with children could be pricey!! Fill them up at the supermarket first, and treat yourself!!

They have a nice range of chocolates and marzipan fruit. Nicely displayed in gift boxes and gift bowls as take home gifts.
A small bowl of chocolates was around $40NZD which was on high side but nice quality

The chocolate at Tonton Jules is super expensive, so be prepared to pay a small fortune for a modest amount of chocolate, but it is very good chocolates at least.

Yes.

Go to the website for the most up to date hours. (I can't post a URL, but just run a quick Google search)
It is at 7 Rue de General Mangin. This is a short 2 block stroll up from the ship terminal (Near Coconut square).
