stunning views

we took the Tchou Tchou Train to Ouen Toro and while the ride out of town was lovely, the pinnacle of the trip was the views from the Hill.

We walked up the track and walked down the road. Stunning views all round. We had trouble trying to find the start of the walk but discovered if we took the first road off to the left after the le roof restaurant, and walked up the hill and onto the track. Portable toilets up there. No great but better than... More

I was staying at nearby Anse Vata. This is a perfect morning walk each day to fully allow you to fully enjoy the most gorgeous french bread and cheese and everything else for the rest of the day..... Views from the top are divine but won't give you an amazing panoramic view of the area. The walk up the road... More

We walked (not very fast) from our apartment at casa del sole and it took just under 1 hour. Then a bit longer for return stopping at cafe along the way. We are not terribly fit and it was easy. It was raining lightly, we took our umbrellas still great view despite being overcast.

I followed my friends and booked the 42 $ choo choo train from Lyvai tour at the ship's terminal. It was way cheaper than the deals offered on our cruise ship. The train took us around the city of Noumea and we ended up on this beautiful hill which displayed historical remains of Word war 2 as well as a... More

We entered the trail after walking a few kilometres along the Anse Vata promenade and around the coast. There are various trails of varying degrees of difficulty (not always obvious) and we got a bit lost at one point so I think we took the long route in the end. However it was good exercise and there were many local... More

The walk gives opportunities for some great views all around. The tracks are colour coded at the start but it pays to take note of which way to go as the turnoffs are not very well signposted along the way. We took some unmarked tracks coming back down and made it back just fine. Some of the tracks would be... More

Getting up at 6:00am to climb Ouen Toro was truly one of the highlights of my trip to Noumea. Although the day was very overcast, it did nothing to detract from the awesome views we were rewarded with upon reaching the top. There are many different pathways leading to the top, providing a range of different views and scenery depending... More

Our group is not the fittest so we used a vehicle to reach the top. The view is excellent and we had the pleasure of seeing Parasailing from the cliffs. The WWII guns are photogenic as are the boards explaining their history. The Cook Pines or Araucaria columnaris, (in French columnar pin) are impressive and abundant here. The clear view... More

Nice walk up and lovely lookout, signs only in french so we couldnt read them but the lookout was very nice. Loads of people out walking running and cycling so you felt quite safe. Don't walk down the bush tracks as they are not signposted and have many paths leading off them and you end up coming out somewhere and... More
