easy access, deeper water for snorkling and seeing bigger fish. it is fairly easy access into the water. we stayed after the change of the tide and had to be a little careful getting out of the water as the waves pushed you a little but did help as well.

We spent and afternoon seeking out the best spots, this one was amazing to say the least. We would have spent time in the water but there was high seas at the time.

Many people will pass this site up when they walk by as some did that were with us. When you see the sign , stop and walk down to the beach. It is very steep and slippery if it rained so be careful. You will be rewarded with stunning views of the bay. This is also the area where Captain... More

We had this spot all to ourselves--just to the side of the canoe landing there is access to the water. When the tide is low you can wade out and see tide pools with amazing fish and crabs, along with shells and other sea life. This is a great access point to tremendous snorkeling although the water is so clear... More

We happened across this lovely spot, went out on the point and spotted a large pod of spinner dolphins. Stunning. We then went down the boat ramp and had a decent snorkel in the sea there. Crystal water with a variety of fish. People who were getting out had found a large octopus which eluded us sadly. had to watch... More

A nice walk down the grassy bank, to see the point where Cook attempted landing. Easy to sit and watch the ocean around you in a trance like state like most of Niue. Particularly special for us given our great interest of late in voyages of Cook around Pacific.

the original landing where captain cook tried to land on niue, he was chased away , now its a very nice canoe landing where you can see fisherman going fishing the old way, they usualy go early in the morning and at about 5-6 in the evenings you can also go for a snorkel there, very clear water

You can feel the history here as this was where Captain Cook first landed on the island of Niue. It is also the main launch area for the fishermen in their tradtional canoe/vaka. Pick a nice sunny day or an evening to watch the sunset.
